Sometimes Google just cracks me up
Posted by: Billy Hollis on Tuesday, June 19, 2007

I was corresponding with a conference organizer about speaking at a conference this fall. I was using my gmail account, because conferences often publish speakers' email addresses on their site. That allowed gmail to put up some sponsored links regarding the topic "speaking":

Now, anyone who's seen me speak knows I have zero fear of public speaking, but I guess I can see that one as reasonable.

But speaking in tongues? I somehow don't think that would fit a computer conference.

Good point. Any time you can’t explain to your parents what you do for a living, you’re effectively working in a foreign language. I’d say that applies to most of us in software development.

Working with Silverlight? I’m working in WPF but in the fat-app side of things. I’ve not done much with the Silverlight but need to.

I think Blog Skins would rock in Silverlight.

Robb, I want to do a blog front-end in Silverlight as soon as I get the chance. That may be a while, since I’m working on two WPF/Silverlight projects and trying to write a WPF book at the same time. And I suspect more paying projects may come along afterwards, because demand for those technologies is only going to go up for the next year or two. So who knows if I can ever actually get to it.

But I think it would be way cool to see QandO in Silverlight.
