lol is that for real? I swear it sounds like a mock interview some comedian would do. "what problems?" "uhhh well you know....some of the leaders were .....killed...you know, minor setbacks" |

Hmmm, I was thinking this sounds like the Taliban spokesman was taking style tips from Glenn Greenwald...
Rule #1 - Use enough qualifiers that anything you say is meaningless, and can be pointed to later as indicative of your success or others failure... |

Hmmm, I was thinking this sounds like the Taliban spokesman was taking style tips from Glenn Greenwald... So we’re all in agreement then? The Taliban guy is just a big joke. |

No, Erb assures me that the Taliban is in control of Afghanistan. All is lost. |

’Tis but a scratch! I hope your mocking is deserved beyond this fool.
Rest assured that if a Taliban spokesman were to say that the sun rises in the east, that I would be checking my compass come the morrow.
But I also find it no longer inspiring to learn news about the killing or capture of a Taliban or Al Qaeda 2nd in command as it seems to come about every other fortnight.
Is it true that we are marching on in Afghanistan past the fabled Monty Python’s Black Knight as he lie there dismembered with no capacity but to hurl insults, or is it true that we are losing ground to an entity that seems to sprout corporal limbs from fertile fields of discontent?
An honest question, as I do not know.
Cheers.

I would say, Pogue, that Afghanistan is largely a barren wasteland. The Taliban can "control" ground in exactly the same way that militia’s can "control" Montana. There’s nobody else there. |

Well, the Taliban are being reduced to committing atrocities against the people of Afghanistan instead of fighting us directly. |

LOL. Yeah, death can be a little inconvenient. Where is Monty Python when you need them? |
