Interesting difference
Posted by: McQ on Wednesday, July 04, 2007

Yesterday I noted the media's reporting on a fictional even which claimed 20 men had been beheaded near Salman Pak. It turned out to be false.

Yet Michael Yon has documented an atrocity where an entire small village was murdered by al Qaeda, and nothing (to be fair, Yon notes that Fox & National Review linked to it on their websites). But other than bloggers, zip, nada, not a word.

That's what continues to puzzle me about much of the coverage of the war. Anyway, Michael Yon's latest, where he talks about that village and the dearth of coverage by the MSM is here.

It shouldn’t puzzle you.

How many years now have we been told that even when terrorists behead someone on video that it’s just what can be expected of them? Outrage demands at least a hint of cognitive dissonance.

How can you continue to be so naive??

Anything that feeds the medias view of the situation gets covered. Those that don’t get soft peddled. The press has a war to fight you know.

National Public Radio spent considerable time on the story. It was an excellent report.
