I think that people would be more than happy to to have a trophy First Lady, someone who would stand around being pretty and gracious.

If you don’t want to have the close examination, you can just run as a democrat. |

It certainly is a less palatable inquiry, even if it is done by the NYT. It may be in the "fashion and style" section, but it certainly won’t be in the taste and manners section. |

I know that public figures are fair game, but wouldn’t it be nice if people applied basic manners to what they put in print? Of course this is not a left wing phenomenon, I think it started in earnest with the press’ coverage of Amy Carter.
Maybe if Jimmy dispatched the Secret Service to administer some beatings to rude reporters, we might not be at this place now? (being a bit sarcastic here, but not entirely)
I just wish reporters would look at the video of the Craig Ferguson pondering the reality that the people are talking about are going to read their comments.
By the way, I googled Amy Carter and it showed the first results of the image search, and the first photo was of an extraorinarily hot girl, and I wished that it was THE Amy Carter, what a nice bit of comeuppance that would been. Disappointingly, it was just an Amy Carter.
Basic manners would help us address a lot of problems.

Difficult to imagine though it is, the NYT almost continuously finds a new low. |

Captain-

I would suggest that merely illustrates your age.
In my memory, "The Press" literally bent over backwards to "flatter" Amy— (She was first ’minor’ in the White House since ’John-John’...)
Then again, I’m old enough to remember the jokes about LBJ’s daughter- and I’m also not dumb enough to pretend that it only started ’then’, either... |

Always good to check in on how the nutroot mass psychosis is hallucinating on recent issues.
Clinton Inc is the ultimateMega-corporate "packaging" combination in the Spouse Derby, and Giuliani has much more of an issue than Fred. Mr. Elizabeth Edwards is a repeat of Mr. Teresa Heinz Kerry. And Jeri is into having children, which Mr. Michelle Obama’s wife is not. Oh yeah, and what about the Gore-bot if he throws his hat in the ring with a hopeless recidivist stoned slacker for an AGIII scion? After all the piety about rock lyrics?! Hmmm, lots of action right across the board! And thankfully, the libs always do the Voter the courtesy of sharing the voices they hear in their heads!
The NYT, its pilot fish, and the nutroots are all really scared of Fred, that’s for sure. |

I would suggest that merely illustrates your age. You may well be right, but my other frame of reference was the history of the coverage of JFK, which was decidely polite in comparison to what they COULD have written. |
