How to make the Nobel Peace Prize even more meaningless, if that’s possible ...
Posted by: McQ on Saturday, July 14, 2007

Said Nobel peace laureate Betty Williams in 2006 in Australia:
""Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." "
Betty Williams yesterday in Dallas"
"Right now, I could kill George Bush."
How sweet. And perfectly representative of why the Nobel Peace prize has come to be nothing more than a meaningless political award to those who most reflect the Nobel prize committee's politics and nothing more. But we knew that when Yasser Arafat and then Jimmy Carter won the thing didn't we?

Tim Blair names Ms. Williams well : "Ugly Betty".

Why isn’t she in jail? She has repeatedly and publicly expressed a desire to kill the President.

Time for her to experience G.W. Bush’s Amerikkka

Time for her to experience G.W. Bush’s Amerikkka.
She is experiencing it. She says stupid and possibly criminal things like that, and nothing happens to her.

The first post on my blog.

I’d pay money to watch the Secret Service twist her into a knot while they haul her off.

If I were in her place and had said that about Clinton, I’d have been rotting in a cell before I could blink.

Did she actually threaten the President?

This is what she said according to the article linked to in the write-up:

"Right now, I could kill George Bush," she said. "No, I don’t mean that. How could you nonviolently kill somebody? I would love to be able to do that."

No, not really, but that is beside the point. She is a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, and that is kind of hard to square with:
How could you nonviolently kill somebody? I would love to be able to do that.
And that was McQ’s point.

So is she for or against Islamic terrorism?

I bet that’s her opening joke for her speech. Ha ha.
