I also have to say, it reminds me of one of my favorite parts in Atlas Shrugged. It’s only a few lines, but it comes when the planners decide that entertainment is frivolous, and close the theaters. Sad to see that not much has changed since the 1930s. We must be serious dammit! For the good of the whole! |

We must be serious dammit! For the good of the whole! We have at least one commenter who agrees. And I don’t think he’s being sarcastic. (Search for the word "snark" in the comments.) |

Heh, nice catch Bruce, all it needs is "preening" and some reference to self-idolizing sock-pupperty to be complete. |

It wasn’t that long ago that Greenwald and his acolytes were trying to pose as non-partisan (even libertarian) independent thinkers. If they seemed to be stuck on a single note (shrill Bush-bashing), they wanted us to understand it wasn’t because they were part of the Democrat base; Bush was just that uniquely evil.
They have long since given up this pose, and are now devoting themselves, like illegal aliens, to the type of dirty work in defense of the Democratic party that mainstream Democrats don’t want to do. See, for example, Greenwald’s recent below the belt attacks on Fred Thompson. As far as I know Thompson hasn’t even announced yet, much less laid out a policy agenda, so I can’t see any reason for supposed independent pundits to be engaged in vicious low-road attacks on the man, alluding to his sex life, other than pure, (paid?) partisanship. |

If memory serves, Gleen actually claimed to be conservative at one point. |
