You can’t parody these guys. We just saw the quote on an earlier post from the House majority whip, fretting about what a terrible problem the Democrats will face if Petraeus gives a positive report.
Excuse me?
I thought the whole point of asking Ptraeus to make a report was so that Congress could make decisions about the withdrawal timeline based on the situation on the ground in Iraq. Why should a positive report present a problem? If things are going well, shouldn’t Congress give Petraeus the support he needs to continue achieving success? The only reason that a positive report from Petraeus will create a problem for Congressional Dems is that they have already promised to deliver a defeat for their base. |

Well, it’s a lot of fun to go over the top (as did the cartoon) on the Democrats. It’s been a long dry spell for supporters of the rightness of the decision to go into Iraq.
Because their position was primarily based on BS the slightest turning of the worm makes them (the far left) all *sshl**s. Hey, they took the chance (for whatever reason) and it is looking like they lost.
Tote up the political result and let’s move on. However, before we do, it must be noted that, at least where I am coming from, this wasn’t just a zero sum game. Some in this super-kerfuffle bet on the elected government of America and some did not. Is that a meaningful difference? Was there every opportunity to support our elected government? Regardless of ...
To me, that is not an inconsequential difference. Not just a passing political issue.
Oh, the Professor Erbs would have us believe that it is of no matter. Administration, Snadministration; other culture, smother culture, it is all morally equivalent and dragging right and wrong into it simply clouds the conflict. It is realpolitik.
Sorry, I don’t think so.
Because of the screw-ups of the Administration, my vote is up for grabs. Ugh, I am not seeing anything I like from the Democrats. Nuff sed. |
