Edwards and Murdoch: Doh!

Do you ever get the impression that between Edwards and Obama, Clinton will sleepwalk through the primaries to a win?

First we have Obama with the promise to unilaterally take action -if he has "actionable intelligence"- within the borders of an ally whether or not the ally gives permission.

Then we have John "two Americas" Edwards climbing all over Hillary Clinton about donations from Rupert Murdoch and News Corp. But we learn today that Edward's passion for rejecting a right winger like Murdoch's money doesn't apply to Edwards. Nope, Edwards has done a nice bit of business with Murdoch and his corporation and had no problem whatsoever taking their money.

John Edwards, who yesterday demanded Democratic candidates return any campaign donations from Rupert Murdoch and News Corp., himself earned at least $800,000 for a book published by one of the media mogul's companies.

The Edwards campaign said the multimillionaire trial lawyer would not return the hefty payout from Murdoch for the book titled "Home: The Blueprints of Our Lives."

The campaign didn't respond to a question from The Post about whether it was hypocritical for Edwards to take money from News Corp. while calling for other candidates not to.

Ye gods, these two are making Dennis Kucinich look good. Yes there are two Americas all right ... the real one and apparently the one only Mr. Poverty lives in.

Clinton declined to respond.

Smart. If I were Clinton, I'd take a couple of weeks off and let them continue to knock themselves further out of contention.

Edwards is the gift that that just keeps on giving....I really thought no one could climb under the bar set by AlGore and yet how easily that barrier is bested.

Barak Obama is just Jimmuh Carter with a better suit and a darker complexion, but as it’s not 1975/76 I think it is safe to say that he won’t be seeing the inside of 1600 PA Ave. unless it’s as Hillary’s Veep.

I think Hillary is PAYING these two guys to be "frontrunners" just so she doesn’t have to work too hard....Richardson and mayhap a few others really probably are better candidates, but with out the buzz and the money, these three frontrunners are consuming all the oxygen in the Democratic race, and Edwards and Obama just seem to be "Oxygen Thieves".

I’ve often wondered, about politicians on both sides of the aisle, whether they are indeed clueless about how hypocritical they are, or whether they know it and just can’t resist taking the cheap shop, hoping that they can score more points than they’ll lose if/when their inconsistencies become known.

If I’m the Republican Campaign Manager I’m authorizing the research funds to be 100% devoted to Hillary. Any other use is a waste of money. The information will never be needed.

From now on I am paying considerable attention to everything concerning Hlllary, who just may be our next president.

I wouldn’t count this race over with just yet. Keep in mind back in the 04 elections the common thought was that Dean was going to sweep the primaries. He ended up self destructing and a candidate no one’s ever heard of with a poll rating of asterisks managed to win the caucuses and the nomination. The Dems traditionally pick either former VP’s or people no one’s ever heard of before as their nominations. I think a Richardson comeback isn’t out of the question just yet.
