Causing the opposition to scramble is all part of the game of elint. Oh, trust me, I understand that ... but we aren’t supposed to be the "opposition" if we’re "friends" or "allies". |

Anyway, beware of the Bear, it still has an inferiority problem and a desire by much of its present "reformed" rulers to again enjoy some of the past glory it had under the old regime. Dammit!!
Now I’m going to have to put Red Dawn on my Netflix queue and watch it all over again. And here I thought my votary of Patrick Swayze days were behind me.
I remember as a young man watching Red Dawn thinking that I should hone my guerrilla warrior skills just in case I needed to match my high school loyalty with my disdain and fear of a communist invasion. And I got good at it. I was ready. Hell, I even practiced some of the tactics I learned in that film like when they pissed in the radiator ‘cause they didn’t have any water. I practiced by pissing in my father’s radiator, and for some reason, he wasn’t too happy about that. (Here’s a tip, don’t practice when the engine is hot… My God Does It Burn… I still have scars.)
I followed Patrick Swayze’s every move. I even practiced Dirty Dancing. (I’m still waiting for those moves to pay off.)
Cheers. (You will forgive me… It’s Friday, you understand. And as McQ would put it, I’m hitting the cups early.)

From the quoted article:In another move with cold war overtones, Russia took the BBC’s Russian-language FM broadcasts off the air. Well, it looks as though they’re at least trying to restrict the Marxist influence in Russia. |

I read a similar article that also commented on the joint Russia-China war games conducted today. The article stated The former Cold War rivals share a heightening distrust of what they see as the United States’ outsized role in global politics, and they have forged a "strategic partnership" aimed at counterbalancing Washington’s policies. You see, we’re the bad guys. |

If Putin leaves, it may get better. Of course, that’s an if. They can’t keep their current approach up, even with a bunch of oil. |
