OBL to say "hi" on 9/11
Posted by: McQ on Thursday, September 06, 2007

Or so some say:
Terror leader Usama bin Laden plans to address Americans on the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in a new video, according to a terror monitoring group.

SITE Intelligence Group said an Internet announcement of the plan included a photo of the al-Qaeda leader from the upcoming video — his beard, which in previous messages had been streaked with gray, was entirely dark.

A senior U.S. official with knowledge of intelligence affairs tells FOX News that "no one should be surprised to get a message from Al-Qaeda around this time."

The official could not confirm or deny the authenticity of the images released, but he said "it's not exactly clear at this point" if the message will be authentic. The official also pointed out that previous messages were later proved to be older footage.
The photo accompanying the story, supposedly from the upcoming video, shows a very young looking bin Laden, which leads me to believe if that is a shot from the upcoming vid, then OBL either has one cracker-jack plastic surgeon who has done a little nip here and a tuck there or it's going to be a compilation of old footage.

Anyway, given the upcoming Petraeus testimony, the "Bush Report" (ala Dick Durbin) and the general Congressional debate, whose side do you think it helps if an OBL vid is aired?

Why?

The terrorists will think it helps them. The leftists... I dunno, they pretend not to care about this except that it "proves Bush was sidetracked in Iraq." The left almost seems proud of that.

Terrorists will be emboldened as easily as they always are by tiny gestures such as this. They will appear in Iraq more frequently. They will be killed in combat. The war goes on as usual.

Until I see a new video of bin Laden that’s at least as sharp and clear as what you can shoot of the kids in the living room, I’m going to stand on ’Was converted to mulch at Tora Bora’.
