He also fell back on that good old standard, "Did you ever serve? I enlisted for Korea!" I guess prior military service immunizes you against...well...anything, huh? Shoot, that’s all he’s ever had in the first place, was his military service, and he’s prostituted that honor like a $2.00 whore.
He’s a text book example for saluting the rank, not the man.
As I recall Benedict Arnold served too, and well.
But I’m not implying Murtha is a traitor to the nation, just to the the Marines.

Whether or not the defendants are aquitted, the prosecution hasn’t attempted to dispute that the Iraqis in question were killed while unarmed and were not involved in violence. The dismissals have been based on the following logic: "you did what you were accused of, but it was ok."
The acquittals are a black mark on US armed forces: not Murtha. The conduct involved is not just a war crime - convicted or not - but one hundred percent contrary to COIN doctrine in 2007.
The smearing of Murtha is a sideshow. If you can’t shoot the message, shoot the messenger. |

The second point is, Murtha had not a clue as to whether the allegations had an ounce of substance before he pronounced verdict nationally.
That’s the bleedin point here, ain’t it.
