Bi-partisan condemnation and wreath laying
Posted by: mcq on Thursday, September 20, 2007

For once. Seems Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to lay a wreath at ground zero when he visits New York. Reaction from both sides of the political spectrum has been swift and negative:
"It is unacceptable for Iranian President Ahmadinejad, who refuses to renounce and end his own country's support of terrorism, to visit the site of the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil in our nation's history," said Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani called the idea "outrageous."

"This is a man who has made threats against America and Israel, is harboring [Osama] Bin Laden's son and other al Qaeda leaders, is shipping arms to Iraqi insurgents and is pursuing the development of nuclear weapons," he said.

White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said an Ahmadinejad visit to the World Trade Center site "is a matter for the City of New York, but it seems more than odd that the president of a country that is a state sponsor of terror would visit Ground Zero."
I say tell him "yes". Let him lay his wreath ... right after he lays a wreath at the grave site of every American soldier killed by Iranian EPDs while promising to quit meddling in Iraq. If he does that, then I'm all for it.

He can’t go to Ground Zero, but he’ll be speaking at Columbia University.

I’m with Romney on this: why not just arrest the guy for Conspiracy to commit Genocide?

Way to provoke an international incident, Joel C. I couldn’t believe Romney said that. That’s the fastest way to go to the brink of war with Iran, if not over it, that I can think of.

I say let Ahmadinejad go to Ground Zero. Let the man see destruction of the type he bought and paid for. And then maybe the police, fearing for their own safety, will step aside while he is torn to bits by an angry mob. Whoops!

Let’s be honest gang, any wreath he was laying at the WTC site would be to the collection of whackjobs who hijacked the airliners.

My only question is, would he make that pubilc knowledge when he returned home, or simply smile quietly to himself as he and his cronies sipped their favorite beverages during discussions of the destruction of Israel.

Look, let’s face it, the only reason that we have to let this magnificent bastard into the country in the first place, is because this is where the supposed “United Nations” is headquartered. If that isn’t a reason to withdraw from that body and kick them out, I don’t know what is.

im surprised he isnt too scared to be out in the open. It would be quite easy for someone with the will to shoot him. Not saying we should, that would be a definite call to war in Iran.

Well, I suppose that that’s what the new York city cops had in mind, when they complained about security issues. The sad part of this is, all that is really necessary for Iran to have a supposedly legitimate excuse for attacking the U.S., would be someone taking a pot shot at that... (mumble) individual.

If we see photos of Ahmanutjob with his clenched fist outstretched over ground zero in every media outlet for the next month I hope that at least they will include the caption "sponsored by Columbia University."

Take him hostage for a couple hundred days.

The Iranians will be very understanding.
