I used to say that one job I would never want would be to be in charge of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. I think the new top job I wouldn’t want would be that of dealing with Pakistan.

This is a very dangerous scenario. I honestly don’t know what is the best move and I would be interested in other people’s thoughts on what is the the U.S. should do (not that what we think will make any difference in what happens).

We really don’t have any choice but to support Musharraf. If he is deposed by the Islamic radicals I’m sure there must be some contingency plan to try and eliminate Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. There wouldn’t be any consulting with the UN or trying to form a coalition of allies. You’d pretty much have to do it before the nukes were dispersed.
