Venezuela: Let the maneuvering begin
Posted by: McQ on Saturday, November 24, 2007

Hugo Chavez has lost his lead, per a new poll, in the Venezuelan Constitutional reform referendum vote coming 8 days from now:
Forty-nine percent of likely voters oppose Chavez's proposed raft of constitutional changes to expand his powers, compared with 39 percent in favor, a survey by respected pollster Datanalisis showed.

Just weeks ago, Chavez had a 10-point lead for his proposed changes in the OPEC nation that must be approved in a referendum, the polling company said.
So now let's all sit back and watch how he manages the "free" election to ensure his desired results are reflected at polls on the appointed day. Because I'm telling you now, some how, some way, they will pass and become law.

And Jimmy Carter will certify it as being on the up and up!

Yeah, there’s that, Bruce, but more...

Consider Musharraf and our government’s support for him, causing so much nailbiting on the left here in the states.

I wonder how many of them are going to be screaming for Crazy Uncle Hugo to resign, once he suspends the constitution to remain in power, as we both know he will...

It remains to be seen yet, but I’m betting Hugo is about to complete the litany of things Bush-hitler and Darth Cheney were slandered as doing to retain power by the Left.

Yet most of the left has no problem with Hugo and some think he’s a hero.

I’d find it sidesplitting hilarious if I didn’t live here or those dolts didn’t run the media.

I think he has until 2012 to get it passed, so he isn’t in a hurry. I believe if he were smart, he would let this election go. It will show that fair elections do happen and prove when it passes next time, that was also fair. He could then blame this year’s result on short term disenchantment created by profiteers. In the mean time, he will make double with trying to buy more people off.

I want to see him with his hand in the cookie jar, it is the only way he will be exposed.
