"I’m mandating healthcare for every man woman and child in America and that’s the only way to have real universal healthcare." Can he mandate every American lives in a mansion as big as his?
Can he mandate my 6 yr old cousin a pony?
Can he mandate all men have hair as silky and beautiful as his?

I guess is that the "undocumented" don’t get that choice either.
So what exactly is the difference between a US citizen and an undocumented person physically in the US ? There appears to be none .. so why bother learning English or learning about the US Constitution ? |

pretty easy to bash a plan that provides health insurance to ALL AMERICANS when you already have coverage. i think the 47 million americans who have absolutely NO COVERAGE will be glad to know they have the choice to vote for a candidate who will fix this broken system. its about time americans have a presidential candidate who mandate something other than cookie-cutter washington politics as usual: unending, unilateral wars of aggression, tax giveaways to the wealthiest 1% of americans, energy policies that subsidize halliburton-crooks in Iraq, etc.
you people only seem to see what you want, time to wake the f*ck up. if your looking for a battle next november john edwards will be the nominee to give it to you — and win. |

if your looking for a battle next november john edwards will be the nominee to give it to you — and win. Edwards can’t win the nomination. And he certainly can’t win the general. He’s already a has-been. |

Mandated medical care. By contrast with Edwards, the dead fascist FDR was Constitution friendly. |

i think the 47 million americans who have absolutely NO COVERAGE... As soon as you cite that figure, you discredit yourself. The smarter lefties are just saying "millions" now, rather than resorting to the 47 million fiction. |

Health care is not a right, despite what you may think jeff.
You are quite eager to vote yourself into receiving a chunk of my earnings (as well as the earnings of millions of others). I would not inflict the same upon you.
If you want to give half your paycheck away to others so they can have health care, knock yourself out. I won’t stop you. Maybe you and other like-minded people could band together. You could all put half of your paycheck into an account and then use that to provide health care for those that do not have it... all without using the force of government. Nah, that couldn’t possibly work...
At least Edwards came right out and said what the rest of them are thinking. |

so OF COURSE you won’t get to refuse our latest offer of "help". besides, you people are easier to control when you depend on us for things.

Edwards is one of the slimier individuals I have seen in politics in recent history.
He parlays being an ambulance chaser into being able to buy a Senate seat, which he almost immediately leaves to launch his faux presidential run (he was always running for a VP slot) which- if successful- would leave him in prime position for the Presidency. He tried to game the system. Thank god he lost, what with some of his pronouncements. |

Hey, jeff: as one of those Americans with no coverage, I’d appreciate it if you’d stop presuming to speak for me. Thanks. |

Dammit. It’s a horrible injustice. |

If we are going to pay for people’s coverage, I’d prefer a simple mechanism of subsidizing private coverage to a certain income. I’d also set up a bank accounts that guilty liberals could donate money to help increase the subsidy rate.
Example:
Subsidized healthcare up to US$ 25,000. (We’re probably already doing that.)
Then the libs can see how much they can drum up, and raise it to US$ 35,000 or whatever they feel is more socially just.
I assume Warren Buffet alone will be able to pay for thousands of people to get healthcare and he can feel happy about it.

Neal Boortz, on his blog, mentioned the Edwards "no choice" story and added, "By the way, how many times have you ever heard Edwards mention freedom in any of his speeches?"
I’d be interested in Nathan proving, logically (uh-oh! the dreaded "l" word that causes collectivists and State-fockers of all stripes to react like Dracula presented with a crucifix!), how "health care" is a right. That is, how A’s desire for free health care conveys upon B (or "E," for "Edwards") the right to force C to pay for it. (Stay tuned, folks. This should be good. Watching "liberals" try to provide logical rationales for the many "rights" they’ve been discovering over the decades is kind of like watching Stephen Hawking try to do the lambada. Sad in a way, but kind of funny, too, if you’re into sick humor.) |
