Why the left has become hard to parody
Posted by: mcq on Tuesday, December 04, 2007

Wondering? Wander over to RightWing News and take a gander at the top 10 worst quotes from the Daily Kos and wonder no more. These are not from commenters. Oh, no. Commenters are too easy. We're talking diarists.

Reading those quotes lowered my IQ by several degrees of magnitude.

But what any sane person reading them should take away is that there is no talking to these people. No reasoning with them.

Ever.

The next civil war will be created by such losers.

Okay, after reading all of those quotes....and then washing my eyes with kerosene...

First, diarist #2 (Granny something), wants America to undergo a complete and utter collapse financially. She wants to inflict a horror orders of magnitude worse than the Great Depression. She wants the country to fail, she’s wishing ill on every citizen in the United States.

NOW can we question her patriotism?

Second, diarist #1 (AWhitneyBrown) doesn’t support the troops because (I’m paraphrasing here) they sign a contract saying they’ll kill whoever they’re told to kill. Has this imbecile never heard of an army? That’s what armies do. And by their actions and their very presence, AWhitneyBrown enjoys his/her freedom to write such idiocy.

Oh, and he/she says that the most important decision you can make in the course of a day is "who am I going to kill today?" Show of hands: who else mulls over that decision every day? Something tells me AWhitneyBrown isn’t too far from losing his sanity.

Honestly, I don’t fear for this country should people like them get in charge. They talk tough, but they are too chicken to carry out 1/1000th of their plans. It’s easy for them to talk big when they have the entire internet to hide behind.

I do.

"Be polite. be professional. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet."

Words to live by...

"Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats."

(I see this everywhere attributed to Mencken, and never ever with a proper cite. I’ve never found it in his work, but it’s right down his alley. I believe it until proven otherwise.)

Two words - Impotent Rage.

All talk and when it comes down to it, they’ll fold like a cheap lawn chair.

The left is too imbued with the mindset of allowing the govt to dictate their lives for them to ever consider fighting back against it. I’m surprised they even admit such things in public since they’re practically admitting to why you should never give the govt any power - the wrong people might just get in office and use it.

My only concern about these people is that they are allowed to vote and interact with children.

And just remember their votes count as much as any of ours!

It’ll be a short one too, as long as they stay out of any position of authority.

What are they going to be armed with rocks, molatov’s, and care bears...

I’ve got enough weapons and ammo to outfit a squad for a decent firefight.

Hmmm, might make a good sci-fi story. What if there was a ’civil war’ and the government didn’t take sides.

me too, and lots of bladed weapons, a few bows, and 30 years of martial arts training, 8 years of infantry training to use them all.

I know which side I would bet on. :)

It already is, in a way. Empire by Orson Scott Card. Not quite the same thing but close

Second, diarist #1 (AWhitneyBrown) ...
is a comedian and that particular post was satire. I’m sure it contained kernels of truth (and if you’ve ever read the comments you’ll find some who agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments), but it’s not really a quote that’s indicative of anything.

Yeah, the side with the Care Bears of course.
They’d stareeeeeeeee ya’ll into submission.
and you might, just might, get some Sudanese allies if any of these bears are named Muhammed.

As for the rocks & Molatov’s - what, are you insane? Someone might get hurt!

Curt beat me to it on the sci-fi front. Unfortunatley this isn’t Card at his best.

Anyway, don’t be dissin’ the Care Bears. There’s nothing that can stand up to Wish Bear and Twinkers once they get their act together.

Quite a list, but I wonder why number 3 is ranked so high. Seems pretty tame in context.
