Chavez blasts opponents and rumors
Posted by: mcq on Thursday, December 06, 2007

All sorts of rumors are swirling concerning the vote last Sunday in Venezuela. Some say that Chavez cut a deal with the military to announce a close finish rather than disclose the actual size of the loss. However an independent monitoring group, Electoral Eye, says their own samples of polling place returns showed it as close as announced.

But the "Mr. Humble" act by Chavez is definitely over. In a joint news conference by Chávez and the high command he said:
``You should administer your victory properly, but already you are covering it in sh*t. It's a sh*tty victory, and our — call it, defeat — is one of courage, of valor, of dignity . . . We haven't moved a millimeter and we won't.''

Chávez used the expletive twice more during the conference.
And, of course, he used the conference to reject the idea of military pressure:
Chávez on Wednesday also denied any such military pressures on him to accept defeat, saying, ``The day a general, however much of a friend he may be, puts pressure on me, I'll sack him immediately.''
All in all, Mr. Wonderful is having a bad week and is now throwing the tantrums you might expect for not getting his way in the manner he preferred. And apparently there was no way he could fudge the numbers and make it believable.

So, as mentioned, look for the incremental approach through the National Assembly to be the fall back position. But probably not until sometime next year.

Anyone seen the movie Idiocracy?
The President addresses the House of Representin’

He begins the speech with

President Camacho: Sh*t. I know sh*t’s bad right now, with all that starving bullsh*t, and the dust storms, and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings. But I got a solution.
South Carolina Representative # 1: That’s what you said last time, dipsh*t!
South Carolina Representative # 2: Yeah, I got a solution, you’re a d*ck! South Carolina, what’s up!

Reminds me exactly of Chavez
