Every day I become more and more convinced that Democrats, and especially those Democrats both running for President and those in control of the Congress (Reid, Pelosi, Murtha, Hastings, etc.) are not only doing nothing to advance this country, but they are in fact either harming it or planning things that will harm it.
Let them try to pass a mandate that means either health insurance or jail. As soon as it passes and people are hauled off to prison, the protests will begin - and they will make the anti-Vietnam War protests look like a tea party.

Read Krugman’s column and you will read the following comment Krugman used to explain a problem with Obama’s healthcare plan "Can we all agree that this would fatally undermine Medicare’s finances?" Maybe Krugman hasn’t been paying attention but Medicare is already fatally undermined and I can’t see how more government action will help. |

Look, the point of a mandate isn’t to dictate how people should live their lives — it’s to prevent some people from gaming the system How blind can you be- how stupid, or willfully ignorant can you be to even utter this?
"To prevent someone from gaming the system".....you stupid f**khole, you’re coercing people to use this system they may not have normally used! If that’s not "dictating how people should live their lives" what is?

They’d better take away the guns first. If they keep going down this road, they’d better start worrying about a preemptive strike.... |

As long as you choose correctly, they are the "pro-choice" party. Actually, that describes both parties fairly well. Governments are not about freedom. |

"I thought they were the "pro-choice" party."
They are. They get to make the choice. You wouldn’t want to be divisive, would you? Being divisive is a bad thing, it creates ill feeling and an intimidating, hostile, and/or offensive atmosphere. You may need to attend training to prevent your intimidation of and offensiveness to your fellow citizens. If the retraining doesn’t work we may have to take other measures. You don’t relly want to be divisive, do you? Hmmmm? |
