Oprah, Andrew and Barack
Posted by: McQ on Sunday, December 09, 2007

Said Andrew, in the orbit of HRC:
"I want Barack Obama to be president," Young said, pausing for effect, "in 2016."

"It's not a matter of being inexperienced. It's a matter of being young," Young said. "There's a certain level of maturity ... you've got to learn to take a certain amount of (expletive)."
And, of course, Andy Young is just looking out for the brother:
"There are more black people that Bill and Hillary lean on," Young said. "You cannot be president alone. ... To put a brother in there by himself is to set him up for crucifixion. His time will come and the world will be ready for a visionary leadership."
Says Oprah of the other "O":
“There are those who say that Barack Obama should wait his turn. There are those who say that he should take a gradual approach to presidential leadership. But none of us is God,” Ms. Winfrey said. “We don’t know what the future holds, so we must respond to the pressures and the fortunes of history when the moment strikes. And Iowa, I believe that moment is now.”
And that's the current battle going on back and forth with the Obama and Clinton campaigns.

But actually my favorite quote of the whole exchange goes to Andy Young:
"He's probably gone with more black women than Barack," Young said of former President Clinton, drawing laughter from a live television audience. Young, 75, was quick to follow his comment on Bill Clinton with the disclaimer, "I'm clowning."
Of course you are, Mr. Young and that's precisely what we need for the next 4 years - more of Bill Clinton and "clowning'. [/sarcasm]

Bill is HRC’s worst enemy, IMO and so are Bill’s "friends." Look the 1990’s were pretty good, BUT HRC doesn’t need people bringing up Bill’s past does she...she’s not a joke and making jokes like this makes her look "jokie".

I hope that the US is ready and willing to vote for a qualified black candidate, but I’m guessing that Obama is a bit untested to convince enough people against a reasonable Republican. I will discount (in a general election) any result for Obama by at least 5-10%.

What black people do Bill and Hillary "lean" on? The black women Bill gawks at? Jesse Jackson when they need a phony prayer session for the media? Look at the cabinet and appointments of Bill, see how much he leans on black people....
