Mental Health Outsourcing

A friend drops me an email:
I was depressed last night so I called Lifeline.

Got a call center in Pakistan.

I told them I was suicidal.

They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.
Can't help it - I've always had a rather strange sense of humor.

Are you sure he didn’t get Blackwater recruiting by mistake?

You can always tell a true fanatic when they try to tell a joke; the vitriol and bitterness just overcome any humorous content, if any. In this case there was no humor to start with, just an effort to insert something nasty about the US side in Iraq.

"In this case there was no humor to start with"

I have studied humor over the years and have become quite a humor junkie. That was humorous on many levels...in fact I’m still chuckling. Had I not finished my coffee 20 minutes ago I’m pretty sure I’d have had a speckled screen and sticky keyboard. I assure you there was humor.

Here is another blatant example of humor. Again, I’m well studied in this area.

Just to be sure, you are referring to Retief’s remark?

"Here is another blatant example of humor. Again, I’m well studied in this area."

Well, it is prety blatant. As I am unstudied in this area, you will have to explain the humor of two guys yelling ’Iron my shirt’ to me.

Speaking of vitriol and bitterness, it sounds like you’ve got some experience there timactual.
