"John Edwards is a Loser" Posted by: McQ

Lawrence O'Donnell, who one commenter tags as the "Ann Coulter of the DLC" has declared John Edwards an electoral waste of time:
John Edwards is a loser. He has won exactly two elections in his life and lost 31. Only one of his wins and all of his losses were in presidential primaries and caucuses. He remains perfectly positioned to continue to lose with a Kucinich-like consistency. Nothing but egomania keeps Edwards in the race now. All presidential candidates are egomaniacs but some of them have party status worth preserving that forces them to drop out when they hit the wall. A loser like Edwards has no status or dignity to lose. Campaigning and losing is his life. So, he will continue his simple-minded, losing campaign and deny Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton the one-on-one contest they deserve.
Now, as I understand it, O'Donnell is an Obama supporter. And if Edwards drops out, it is more likely to help Obama than Clinton. Great. So the purpose of the tirade is obvious. But O'Donnell appears to believe that neither Edwards or his crew understood what needed to be understood.
So O'Donnell is breaking out the clue bat and make it clear to both Edwards and his supporters - and in no uncertain terms - that it is time for Edwards to go. Naturally no newspaper would accept an op-ed as bluntly worded as that, so he took the other option.
A blog. Namely HuffPo. And, if you're having a slow day and want a little entertainment, read the comments. A chuckle or two is guaranteed.
By the time we get to the Dem nominee, whoever it is will be so beaten up that the Republican opposition will have little work to do. Of course, as always happens, when the Republicans use or say the same things the Dems are using or saying, well, it'll be the vicious Republican smear machine at work.
The good news is, O'Donnell can't be claimed to be "Swift boating" Edwards. That requires facts and as you can see, that's not the point of O'Donnell's rant. But it is fun to watch these folks eat their own.
Now, as I understand it, O’Donnell is an Obama supporter.
Saddest thing ever. We now have to identify our reporters and pundits by their affiliation. They are hired for their contacts, but presented as impartial.
