I could have swore Eddy was dead...
Or am I thinking of his popularity and relevancy? |

I liked their albums up to and including Yield, especially the rather underrated "No Code." I can see why one might have tired of them after Ten though, as Vs. was nothing special and their subsequent singles weren’t all that great. |

If he really were unpopular and irrelevant, and people didn’t know whether he was still alive, he’d be headlining in Reno. |

May I take this opportunity to point out that Neil Youngs "Lets Impeach The President" was equally as pathetic and lame? |

May I take this opportunity to point out that Neil Youngs "Lets Impeach The President" was equally as pathetic and lame? No, No you may NOT for at leasst two reasons: 1) ChimpyMcShrubh*tler is deserving of impeachment, why I don’t know, precisely, but I would refer you to any edition of DU or the Daily Kos; and 2) Neil Young does NOT sing or produce pathetic and lame music. |

That gives me an idea. I hereby go on record for the reverse: when the Islamofascists stop killing people, I will shave my head. |

Neil Young:I’m a Canadian. I’d like to vote in the U.S. election because I feel like I’ve got just as much right to vote in them as anybody else. Wonder what party he’d be a registered member of?I’ve lived here for so long, paid taxes for so long and my kids have to register for selective service. I guess I could be a dual citizen, but if I ever had to give up my Canadian citizenship to become American I wouldn’t do it, because I wouldn’t want to hurt Canada. I love Canada.
What a dilemma... become an American so you can vote against der Bush!tler McChimpiburtonshrubjews, but at the same time, you don’t want to hurt Canada by tainting yourself with American citizenship.
That kind of megalomania is sort of, well... Erblike.
Speaking of which, if you’ve ever wondered just what Scott Erb has been smoking, it’s crystal meth. |

"You were wrong. It’s ok. We all make mistakes. "
Hey, if I have to start framing my musical choices based on the socio-political beliefs of the artists involved, I’d be losing some good stuff.
Of course if you are merely pointing out that I was wrong on musical grounds, that’s more of an opinion statement, and I can’t claim my musical tastes as anything stellar. (Though I do pride myself on being rather broadminded in my acceptance of stuff nobody I know will listen to.) |

Jon,
I am confused. When you say: I’m going to take his word for it, on the theory that everything Pearl Jam has done since Ten has been self-indulgent pap this suggests that pre-Ten, you liked what they did, no?
How does this square with what you said here. I don’t like music. Any of it. I just don’t get it. |

How does this square with what you said here. I hadn’t grown to dislike all music until about 5-6 years ago. I was a fan of Ten at the time it came out. I grew to dislike Pearl Jam afterward, especially when I saw them in concert (at the Fox Theater in Atlanta) and they positively sucked. They played fine...they were just dull. |

Cool, I thought it was just me that has spent my entire life being thoroughly unimpressed with Neil Young. I never understood the reverence for this guy.
I even went to see Rust Never Sleeps at a movie theatre... rust may not, but I sure did.
I’ll take the Song Remains the Same, any day. Heck, even Purple Rain was better, and it sucked too. |
