McCain - you have to love the irony if nothing else
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Sen. John McCain, a passionate advocate of limits on campaign finances, is turning down government matching funds for the primary to free him to spend more money as he prepares for a general election contest.
Sweet.

"But I’m BETTER than you. Therefore I MUST be able to do things differently. I am a GREAT MAN and can be trusted. The rest of you??? Mindless children who must be watched closely and scolded often!" /sarcasm - I wish!

I want to know, has anyone actually seen Al Gore and John McCain in the same room at the same time?

Most candidates at this level don’t take federal funds. That certainly doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be in favor of campaign finance reform. But until money at this level is out of politics, they have to play the game by the rules that exist. The Democrats seem to be doing that very well this year.
