But yesterday, I talked to the breeder from whom we got the cane corso puppy last year. Unfortunately, he had a house fire that burned out a significant portion of his home. As a result, he's had to move into a hotel for a while, and kennel the 5 breeding cane corsos in his stable. In addition, he also had a male puppy—a brother of contessa from a recent litter from the same breeding pair. He really needed to get that puppy into a stable situation immediately. So, he asked me if I wanted a show-quality, registered, purebred cane corso puppy...for free. Well, getting $2,500 off the standard purchase price was a pretty good deal. So, last night, we went and picked up Nero.
As it happens, we will probably only keep him for a month or so. In all probability, we will give him to Chris' son after doing some training and socialization work. But for now, he's fitting into the family just fine. |
