I’ll believe the economy is in the toilet when I can go to a Best Buy and not see hordes of working-class people leaving the store with all sorts of things (that Rock Band game sure is popular.....)

I won’t conceded a winner, OR loser. this supposed end to the war was created at the behest of trucks of cash, not a market ready for a new standard. I still believe both could go down in flames.

I’ve actually been waiting for the standards war to get settled.

So I get a blu-ray player...

Then I have to get a new stereo receiver since I don’t have any HDMI inputs, and it only does 5.1 dolby, not google-phonic sound or whatever the new craze is.

And then I’ll probably have to get more speakers for that in home multi-dimensional sound.

And probably hire someone to hook it all up, and program the universal remote.

Then there’s all those DVD’s that probably wont be quite good enough on the blu-ray that we’ll want to upgrade them. Blade Runner and Star Wars for instance.

That should keep the economy humming for a while.
