Just when Obama thought it was safe to go back to church
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, March 25, 2008

Hillary "sniper dodger" Clinton finally comments on the Wright controversy:
"He would not have been my pastor," Clinton said. "You don't choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend."

"You know, I spoke out against Don Imus (who was fired from his radio and television shows after making racially insensitive remarks), saying that hate speech was unacceptable in any setting, and I believe that," Clinton said. "I just think you have to speak out against that. You certainly have to do that, if not explicitly, then implicitly by getting up and moving."
Anything to keep this particular controversy alive. I question the timing. In fact, I wonder if the question was planted. Nah ... what is wrong with me. The Clinton campaign would never do that.

Oh, and worst political excuse ever? The envelope please.

And the winner is Hillary Clinton when asked about her Bosnian whopper where she claimed she, Chelsea, Sinbad and others landed under sniper fire and had to dash to their cars without a welcoming ceremony (all claims shown to be a total fabrication by video of the event):
"I was sleep-deprived, and I misspoke."
That's her story and she's sticking with it. Meanwhile the campaign refuses to address questions about it claiming they've said all they're going to say.

So, Hillary was sleep-deprived and misspoke as a result? I wonder how she’ll misspeak when she gets that 3 am call interrupting her sleep.

Best she avoid those 3am phone calls then...

I can’t believe people seriously consider these sorts of people for leadership roles. Maybe universal suffrage is a bad idea.

So Mrs. Clinton must have been sleep-deprived and misspoke when she wrote her book too. Or maybe her ghost writer was sleep-deprived. This lying goes back to the easiest days of the Clinton administration with the 700 FBI files mystery that was never resolved. Witnesses in every instance were not portrayed as believable by the media. Will the media now go back and examine what they reported or ignored at the time. I doubt it.

I wonder if we deprived her a little longer, would she recall hunkering down in the trenches during the German push at Belleau Wood?

Maybe standing at the Porta Aurelia as the Goths stormed into Rome?

Having tea with John Kerry in Cambodia at Christmas?

Does make you wonder about her answering that phone call, doesn’t it.

Heh, I’m sleep deprived - I have the attack going in the wrong direction, and the attackers too.
I distinctly recall it going the other way.
That’s all I’m going to say about the matter.

Was "sniper dodger" sleep deprived when she landed for her photo-op, spring break trip to Bosnia or when she told the lie a couple of weeks ago? How does her photo-op in Bosnia constitute foreign policy experience? If it does, then Sinbad has the same amount of foreign policy experience as Hillary. This confirms that Hillary has a vivid imagination, however.

Wait a minute- usually when you’re sleep deprived, it’s hard to be creative and make up stories out of whole cloth like that!

She really is the smartest woman in the world!!!

I’m wondering how much sleep she’d been lacking when she claimed to have been named after Edmund Hillary.

I deplore the sexist double standard being applied to Hillary on her Bosnia fantasy. John Kerry just made stuff up about his wartime heroics to promote himself, as for example with his Christmas mission to Cambodia or his first Purple Heart, and did loyal Dems denounce him bitterly? Did the media pry under every rock in a relentless quest for the truth, or even new evidence?

Of course not! Instead of looking for the truth, Dems and their media enablers looked for new words, coining "swiftboating".

So why are they "swiftboating" Hillary?

I don’t think I would have misspoken about taking my only child into a combat zone and having her get shot at. I also doubt that the secret service would have let her or Chelsea off the plane, if they had even allowed it to land, if they were taking fire.

It is not only the fact that both Clinton’s are well known liars (and let us hope it is not hereditary, for Chelsea’a sake), it is that they tell such stupid and unnecessary lies that are bound to be discovered. I think is was Bob Kerry who said Wee Willie was a good liar, but he really isn’t. Both of them are stupid liars. A good liar only lies when necessary, and only tells believable lies that are difficult to detect. The Clintons are bold and brazen liars, but not good ones. They are the kind of people who claim all sorts of things on their resumes, assuming that noone will check their references.

How can you "MISPEAK" about being fired at by a sniper. I mean it isnt like it happens to her every day. Granted she has been around a bit but I have never heard of other accounts of her being shot at by anything more than a glare from Bill. I can see if an American soldier talking about experiences in Iraq gets confused about sniper fire happening on one occasion but Hillary doesn’t have to go through circumstances like that.

Being fired at by a sniper is something that folks remember. Sorta like if you have sex with an intern in the Oval Office. How can you MISSPEAK about something like that when it would have been the only time in your life that you were fired at by snipers. Her excuse is just as shoddy as her marriage and the rest of her life. Not worth the breath it took to speak the lie.

If you are fired on by snipers, you never forget it, but if you are not fired on by snipers, it’s apparently not so hard to remember.

Did Barack Obama Violate the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act?
The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (apparently last changed in 1995) provides:

(5 ILCS 420/2-110)

Sec. 2-110. Honoraria.

(a) No member of the General Assembly shall accept any honorarium.
.. but on his 2000 Schedule C-EZ, Barack reported that he received $16,500 as a “Foundation director/Educational speaker" and on his 2002 Schedule C, Barack reported $34,491 for “LEGAL SERVCES / SPEAKING FEES."

There’s some splain to do.

She was fired at by lousy snipers who didn’t get anywhere close to her!

You guys need to lay off, if she said she dodged sniper fire, she must have dodged sniper fire.

For her prelanding briefing they showed her a scene from "The Inlaws" with Peter Falk and Alan Arkin.

"Serpentine Shelly! Serpentine!"
