Chavez endorses McCain
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, March 25, 2008

Why are you laughing?
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a socialist and fierce U.S. critic, warned on Tuesday that relations with Washington could worsen if Republican candidate John McCain wins this year's presidential election.

Chavez said he hopes the United States and Venezuela can work better together when his ideological foe, U.S. President George W. Bush, leaves the White House next year, but he said McCain seemed "warlike."

"Sometimes one says, 'worse than Bush is impossible,' but we don't know," Chavez told foreign correspondents. "McCain also seems to be a man of war."
Think about it - if Chavez doesn't want him to win, what better endorsement could McCain get?

I just came from the Drudge Report .. and yes, I am laughing.

This should strike fear into the reality-based community.
If BusHiler was bad, how could things get worse ?

The Reyes hard drive reveals an ardent effort to do business directly with the FARC by Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.), a leading opponent of the free-trade deal. Mr. McGovern has been working with an American go-between, who has been offering the rebels help in undermining Colombia’s elected and popular government.

Can you store this practical observation in your memory bank so when OBL endorses a Democrat, you are able to understand what he is trying to accomplish?

Sarcastic,

That is not how this endorsement is being interpreted.

And quite frankly, the whole ’Osama is using reverse psychology’ is pretty freaking desperate to maintain denial of the obvious.

I don’t think that word means what you think it means.

Of course its not. Not by conservatives anyway.

I thought of the same post that the good Captin referenced when I heard the news about that this morning.

According to some, when the enemies of the US endorses a Dem, it’s bad, when the enemies of the US endorses a Republican, it’s good. Pfft.

Just as I predicted, the McCain campfire grows warmer and warmer. By October, you’ll be roasting your marshmallows telling scary stories about ghouls and Obama.

Looks like our enemies are endorsing Democrats consistently.

Except for Chavez, eh?

Our terrorist enemies love Bush, he makes them relevant. But they know Americans hate them, so if they want Bush, they say they want anyone else. It’s not rocket science.
Ron Suskind noted that the CIA analysis of the video led them to the consensus view that the tape was designed strategically to help President Bush win reelection in 2004. Deputy CIA director John E. McLaughlin noted at one meeting, "Bin Laden certainly did a nice favor today for the President." Suskind quoted Jami Miscik, CIA deputy associate director for intelligence, as saying "Certainly, he would want Bush to keep doing what he’s doing for a few more years."[2]

No, it appears he’s endorsing anyone but McCain. In other words, whoever the Donkey Party runs in the general.

No, it’s not rocket science, it’s bullsh*t. Like your wiki link that uses a leftist wegbsite as a source:

Of course bin laden loves Bush. Hiding in a cave is much more fun than controlling Afgansitan.

And quite frankly, the whole ’Osama is using reverse psychology’ is pretty freaking desperate to maintain denial of the obvious.
The counter argument in that thread wasn’t “Osama is using reverse psychology”, the counter argument was who gives a sh*t about the ranting of a madman. Same thing here. Chavez’s endorsement means two things, Jack and sh*t. And Jack left town.

It’s always fun to go back and examine what was said back then. And speaking of “pretty freaking desperate” and “maintain denial of the obvious”, let us have another look shall we?

From that thread, January 2006…
Pogue

Iraq is a done deal. The Iraqis are taking charge and at last the well meaning but confused Murtha can look forward to tilting at windmills from his vantage point in the solarium.
Iraq is a “done deal” is it? Uh huh.
There’s even more difference between disagreeing and salivating at Bush’s perceived failures.
Perceived failures? Perceived!?
I look forward to the campaign commericals showing Osama and Murtha (or Pelosi, or Dean, or Kennedy, or Kerry, etc.) in a split screen format, each spewing the same anti-U.S., pro-terrorist, defeatist propaganda.
Heh. And how’d that work out for you?
Deal with it. Try this slogan: "Our Iraq policy is so wise even Osama agrees with us. Vote Democrat."
Frank Luntz Jr.??? Again, how did that work out?

And apparently, Steverino…
If you are doing exactly what your enemy wants you to do, then that’s prima facie evidence you’re doing the wrong thing.
And how, exactly, do you or anyone else here know what our enemy wants us to do.? Because Bin Laden says so!?
Our enemy says we should do something, and now you’re saying that he doesn’t really mean it. Come on, Pogue, you’re sinking into absurdity now.

And this is just precious…
You can’t have it both ways.

Apparently, McQ, you changed your mind.

Examining the thread from the past, two things become true to time…
a) I’m still that damn good, and
b) Bithead’s spelling and grammar has improved immeasurably. (Welcome to the spellcheck club, Bit.)

Cheers.

Here is another one:

Oklahoma Sen. Don Nickles, the second-ranking Senate Republican at the time, said the Democrats "sound somewhat like spokespersons for the Iraqi government."
Indeed.
