Incredible
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, April 01, 2008

One of the stories I did for Pundit Review's "Someone You Should Know" series was about a young PFC named Channing Moss. And while the story is about him it is also about those who worked so hard and risked so much to save his life.

It is an incredible story. Listen to if first here. Then, watch this video about it all, to include the surgery I talk about. It is an amazing story. Hat tip to Kevin for the link to the video.

When I saw that video the first time a while ago, I was simply in awe. Seeing them remove that RPG, and their reactions to the event after the fact... wow. Channing Moss’s deep gratitude to his comrades is an advertisement in itself for the military, which you’d think would be a hard thing to take from such a gruesome story. I’d like, someday, to see a show about real-life surgeons of the armed forces and about field medics.

Scott - It’s not an April Fool’s joke. I promise. Just a remarkable, touching video.

There’s one coming out very soon (saw an interview with the producer but can’t think of the name to save my life) that covers the care from the field all the way to Walter Reed.
