It took all of this time to determine Diana was killed by her reckless driver?
Posted by: McQ on Monday, April 07, 2008

CBS blasts out a "breaking story" email:
A coroner's jury has ruled that Princess Diana and boyfriend Dodi Fayed were unlawfully killed through the reckless actions of their driver and the paparazzi in 1997.
Huh. Wonder how much that cost British taxpayers?

I hate to admit it, but I figured that out in, well, 1997 as did most Brits I'm sure.

Only reason I can think of for going through these motions is the riots that would have ensured had they NOT done so. Seems to me an act of self-preservation on the part of the government, and the Yard.

Which, granted, is no more attractive than the government doing it withot that pressure, but it does change the focus somewhat.
