Meanwhile, an analyst on Fox News is calling for Obama to be assasinated. Her exact quote is "[...] and now we have what some are reading as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama. Um, uh, Obama. Well them both, if we could."

Actually, it’s Liz Trotta. NYC bureau chief for the Washington Times. The wingnut paper.

You want the difference between the right and the left in this country summed up in a nutshell? Here it is.

My bad - she apparently used to work for the Times.

Guess that makes it ok.

Nope, not okay. And since it’s not okay, it’s a good thing we never heard anyone talk about killing President Bush, whether in a flippant comment on the radio or at the end of a newspaper article, on bumper stickers, or in a feature-length speculative documentary. We never heard people talk about a Cheney Administration being the downside of a Bush assassination. The Left is above that kind of thing. Right, mk?

And actually, I just watched the quote in context for the first time, and I have to say... you’re reaching to say that Trotta was calling for Obama to be assassinated. I tried assuming the worst of her intentions, and it just doesn’t fly once you’ve introduced the context.

She also apologized on air, with none of the mealy-mouthed "sorry if I offended anyone" bit. Again, you have to want her to be evil to make it stick.
