The sort of hate that Pfleger was preaching in that sermon is about to become the status quo approach to race in public schools. The local school district in my town is bringing it in under the radar and beta-testing it right now.*
It consists of a few new norms: Only whites can be racists. All whites enjoy white privilege whether they think they do or not. All blacks are oppressed by whites whether blacks or whites know it. And it’s historical white supremacy that makes all this reality. European and American history is magically transformed into the story of race itself, invented for white privilege by privileged whites, etc.
This has long been more or less standard at the university level. Now it’s entering the public schools.
So, to think that the MLK "content of their character" narrative is the operative norm in racial reconciliation is to be watching a standard of judgement disappear from the caboose of a historical train.
You’re looking at a Marxist cultural/historical reinterpretation of the United States and Western society that’s pretty much along the lines of Howard Zinn’s Peoples History of the United States, which is, briefly, America with all the good parts left out.
* They’ve just sent their first batch of, I think it was, seventh graders to a workshop called "Undoing Racism" that was developed and is held by an outfit called, you guessed it, "The People’s Insitute," which now operates out of New Orleans, I believe. |

Supposedly Sabina was converted to Christianity by her Syrian servant Serapia. During the persecution of Emperor Hadrian, Serapia suffered martyrdom for her Christian Faith. It is believed that St. Sabina was murdered for the Faith about a month later. Looks like he’s OK for another month. |
