Yeah, this is a bit irksome. Not only does he not have the tape, now he says he hasn’t even seen it. Essentially, his story is that some guy told him there was a tape, and its, you know, icky.
That’s his big story. We had to wait through the weekend for "this dude saw the tape and told me it’s damaging?" What a crock. |

There is no tape.
If you read LJ stuff, it’s clear that he is trying his best to believe his own rumours .. and still doesn’t believe it himself.
Nobody has gone on record as having seen it (except perhaps LJ).
Nobody knows if Karl Rove, Lee Atwater, E. Howard Hunt or Donald Segretti have a copy of the tape, that’s only LJ spinning.

But regardless, without a video or audio, this is all an exercise in speculation.
Then you must be pure tuckered out by now.
Without any video, audio, or written word, this whole notion that the Obama’s are racists has been nothing but an exercise in speculation.
You best get in shape though. Because it’s quite possible that the next four years will require old-style, nineteen-nineties endurance from the Right.
Frankly, I don’t know why some of you want this tape to exist. The man could be running our country for the next four years. Why would anyone want him to be a racist? These “I hope the tape exists” comments from some of you are disheartening.
Wouldn’t you want the two candidates to be good people? I know I do. It’s policy differences that one would hope the American people would be voting on.
It’s a strange desire from some of you.

No one from Trinity should be president or first lady. I’d like to see a video like the purported one about Michelle Obama that would definitively reveal the sort of people the Obamas are and sink Obama’s shot at the presidency now and forever. |

Odd. I didn’t say "no matter what the policy". Policy is one factor in the decision. In some cases it is the most important, but that assumes a significant gulf in policy between the choices.
Carter was a disaster as president, both because his policy ideas were bad but also due to his personality. In fact, to some extent it appears to me that the office forces policy moderation on the sitting president; Carter was more a leftist than his policy reflected, Reagan was more conservative than his policy reflected. It’s like you want a president you can have a beer with? Is that it??? No, that’s not it.
I’d probably prefer to have a beer with Ron over Rudy or most of the other competition. I just don’t think Ron would be a good president.
When I say personality, I don’t mean someone I would personally like, but the traits that make for good leadership: seeing the big picture not just the details, leading not following the polls, etc. |

Somewhat off-topic, but on the matter of whether Larry Johnson edited his original post and changed the word "video" to "news", such unmarked modification of No Quarter posts has happened before. I noticed one such instance in March during an encouter I had with NQ guest blogger SusanUnPC.
So suggesting that Johnson edited one of his posts without telling anyone isn’t a foreign accusation to that blog. They’ve done it before. |

Sounds to me it was a deliberate homophone for a deliberate dual meaning. Both are meant to be applied. Inserting such devices deliberately in a speach would not be out of place with the speaking style from Trinity’s pulpit.
Someone connected with Obama is a highly skilled speech writer(s). A deliberate homophone to be ’cute’ about having a more defensible version of her statements would probably be within that person’s scope.
