So, if the SCOTUS rules that fun ownership is an individual right, we need to have a sort of ACLU to sue the government and anyone who steps on that right, in any way, shape, or form.
I can see "Jones v. Obama" and "Smith v. Pelosi" coming down the pike rather soon. Let’s clog up the courts with pro-gun lawsuits and watch the liberals go nuts. |

Oops...that should be "gun ownership" and not "fun ownership."
Sorry for the mistake. And now back to your regularly scheduled constitutionally-mandated foolscap. |

Unfortunately given the question in Heller and the tendencies of this court, all signs seem to point to a narrow ruling like "The second amendment protects an individual right to keep an assembled and loaded firearm in your own home for self-defense", worded so that it won’t make a good stepping stone for legal challenges to extant gun control laws that fall short of the DC Ban.
I suppose we might get a sweeping ruling upholding the 2nd Amendment across the board, and it would be nice, but I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. |
