Michelle Obama’s new twist on "for the children"
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Of course, criticizing Ms. Obama is verboten per her hubby. But his particular quote is so, well, Michelle:
“I wish we had time to be divided. I wish we had time to be upset. To be angry. To be disappointed. I wish we did,” Obama said. “Because if we had time for that, then things wouldn’t be so bad right now. Instead, we’re in a place where another four or eight years of the world as it is will devastate the life of some child.”
How dare you selfish people be angry, divided, upset and disappointed. The Obama's have been peddling the doom and gloom scenario for a couple of years, but its a simple choice for heaven sake - elect McCain and devastate a child's life! Elect Obama and you'll be voting - everybody now - "for the children".

Got it?

Thank you very much.

You know, I have come to believe that Obama and his wife make some of the silliest statements known to mankind, and that they can’t make any more of them, and then one (or both) of them go and say something like this.

Imagine, for a second, if Cindy McCain said, "If we don’t get this election right, the next four or eight years of this country could be destroyed." Forget mentioning children - just the wording of that and the liberalmedia would be on her like, well, maggots on a corpse.

But Michelle and Barack, Prince Obama and Wifey Poo, can say no wrong and do no wrong, and, besides, you can’t criticize them because that would be racist.

Call me a racist. I think these two will be the ruination of this country and everything it stands for. If Obama wins, it will mean that mediocrity can win after all.

The continual wonderment of the Obamas... Does this kind of talk actually work for swing voters and independents?

Countdown to this comment being described by Obama as "inartful" in 5....4....

Schadenfreude is gonna be running wilder than Hulkamania at it’s peak if the public actually buys the bill of goods these two twits are selling...

Just how do they think they will be able to change "the world as it is"? Even if Obama does get elected President of the US, it’s a big world out there.

BO and his missus are both forty watts short of a light bulb. They both clueless, and before a leader can offer hope, be first must have a clue.

And yet Carter was elected.

It’s a little known fact that when Mussolini uttered his famout "Everything for the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State," he added, "I mean, you know, for the kids, of course," but that aside was lost to history.

How about if every parent(s) takes the personal responsibility to make certain that their, his, or her child’s life is not devastated instead of being dependent upon the government to save their baby?

Maybe if we can identify this child, we can save him/her from a devastated life?

This explains the why of getting rid of the world’s nuclear arsenal as Master O promised then, because, hell, one of those could easily devastate the life of a child.

Y’all laugh it up, but 77% of the country agrees with Michelle Obama that the track we’re on is the wrong one. For the children or not is kinda beside the point when 77% of the country agrees that we can’t afford more of what we’ve had the last 8 years.

Imagine that, a person on a campaign suggesting that things will be worse if the other party wins the election, that’s shocking!
"However they put it, the Democrat approach in Iraq comes down to this: The terrorists win and America loses."

George W. Bush, October 30th, 2006, Crawford, Texas
Vote Republican or die!

(paraphrasing, you know, like this... "elect McCain and devastate a child’s life")

MO suggests that one child will be negatively impacted by a continuation of currently policies, Republicans suggest that the terrorists (or terriers) win if current policies are not continued.

And you think MO’s statements are exceptional?

Holy Shill Batman!

Let’s see. 4-8 years = country down the tubes.

5 years = drilling oil will make no difference in the price of gas.

Disconnect much.

Nice save attempt, Retief. Not particularly convincing, but nice try.

Can’t really say the same for your compatriot "mythbuster" though.

Any other response (like an actual response to my comment) would have been surprising.

First there has to be something worth a response.

Let me make a prediction: elect Obama or McCain and America will not be destroyed in 4-8 years.

Or even 8-10 years. (Kudos for Mrs. Obama to know that presidential terms are 4 years, and you might not even win re-election. She is the numerate one in the relationship apparently.)

Its pretty hard to drive a country like ours into the ground. Maybe Hugo Chavez could give this theory a run for the money, but our leaders are constrained by checks and balances.

I don’t worry about increased taxation. Taxes have been cut before, and they can be cut again. Heck, it gives the 2010 - 2012 election a bone for the GOP to go after. I worry more about the formation of large bureaucracies or new benefits as those rarely go way. And we’ll see what happens to SS and Medicare when we hit the payment crisis. I think they’ll shrink then. But if we get any form of nationalized healthcare, that will NEVER change back. Just the sheer number of newly minted jobs-for-life healthcare workers will make sure that never happens and will vote Dem forever to ensure it.

oh, and so far, Obama is not promising to nationalize healthcare, so I am not too worried about that, either. Not to mention if he comes in during a recession or just after the recession is over, he won’t try to raise taxes too much. He wants to be re-elected after all.

Now, that’s not entirely fair. Mythy did just do a convincing job of tacitly admitting that Obambi’s changitude shtick is a total crock.

I think of my cats as my children. And the price of vet care, cat food, etc., is getting higher. Maybe I should be able to steal from my neighbors to keep my cats healthy and happy. After all, it’s for my children.

By the way, do you think any of the clueless State-shtuppers who post here ever figured out that if all the upper-middle-class and wealthy "liberals" (the Obamas, the Kennedys, the Hollywood Left, etc.) tithed their incomes to go toward a "for the children" pool, you could probably give each poor kid in the US enough money to keep them decently fed, housed and educated through to adulthood? All without recourse to legalized plunder. But then, if you’re a coercion-junkie, you wouldn’t be able to get your power jollies, so what’s the fun in that?

Well, when your arguments are shown to be incorrect, you ignore and continue. So, what’s the point? Are we all still dupes for not understanding that 27 is less than 36?

Are you reaching Myth - are you SURE he’s talking about the whole world, and the United States as an entire country, or is he talking about what will happen in Iraq?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

The children are important, which is why I want Michelle Obama as far away from them as possible. After all, she took her own children to Trinity Church and allowed them to listen to Jeremiah Wright.

Dissent* is the highest form of patriotism.

*Some restrictions may apply, see Michelle Obama for details. Void where prohibited. This product is not intended for use in devastating the life of some child.
