Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) indicted
Posted by: McQ on Tuesday, July 29, 2008

It couldn't happen to a more deserving guy:
Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, has been indicted on seven "charges related to (his) holding of public office," two federal government sources told FOX News on Tuesday.

The Department of Justice has announced a 1:20 p.m. ET press conference that a release says is "regarding a criminal matter."
In case you've forgotten who he is, think "bridge to nowhere", one of his more visible attempts at misusing his public office. The same guy who literally threw a hissy fit about the possibility of funding for the bridge being withdrawn. The primary reason for his indictment, however, can be found here.

Frankly, we need to see a few more of these arrogant yahoos who abuse their power and the intent of their office to be frog marched off to jail. And Stevens will be a nice start.

...or all the Senators who just happened to get sweetheart deals from Countrywide...

But heck, I’ll settle for this loser going to jail.

Throw him in hard-time lockup.

Over at the next right, Dave Cuddy was suggested as a replacement. I would suggest anyone wanting to see Stevens defeated back him and contribute to his campaign.

His career is about to get flushed down a series of tubes.

Notable Republican Senators of the present and recent past:

Ted "Show me the money" Stevens
Trent "I’m tired of hearing from the Porkbusters" Lott
Chuck "Clueless, but good at gnawing on his own fingers" Hagel
John "Free speech? We don’t need no stinking free speech!" McCain
Larry "Wide Stance" Craig
Olympia "Super-RINO" Snowe

And these guys have the nerve to wonder why their support is melting faster than butter in a microwave.

I have been voting Republican since 1964. I am glad that Stevens is going, going, gone.
