Even the journalists are noticing. Jonathan Weisman:
The 200,000 souls who thronged to his speech in Berlin came not just for him, he told the enthralled audience of congressional representatives.

"I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions," he said.
Dana Milbank:
Some say the supremely confident Obama — nearly 100 days from the election, he pronounces that "the odds of us winning are very good" — has become a president-in-waiting. But in truth, he doesn't need to wait: He has already amassed the trappings of the office, without those pesky decisions.

The Atlantic's Marc Ambinder reported last week that Obama has directed his staff to begin planning for his transition to the White House, causing Republicans to howl about premature drape measuring.

[...]

As Bush held quiet signing ceremonies in the White House yesterday morning, Obama was involved in a more visible display of executive authority a block away, when he met with Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani at the Willard. A full block of F Street was shut down for the prime minister and the would-be president, and some 40 security and motorcade vehicles filled the street.

Later, Obama's aides issued an official-sounding statement, borrowing the language of White House communiques: "I had a productive and wide-ranging discussion. . . . I look forward to working with the democratically elected government of Pakistan."
Meanwhile, say Rasmussen:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that Barack Obama now attracts 45% of the vote while John McCain earns 43%. When "leaners" are included, it’s Obama 48% and McCain 46%.
And Gallup:
After moving into a nine percentage point lead over John McCain in Gallup Poll Daily tracking of national registered voters this past weekend, Barack Obama now leads by just four points, 46% to 42%.

Peter Kirsanow:

Simple assignment for the press corps: ask the senator to name three specific traditions to which America will return upon his election and why his election will prompt their return. No teleprompters allowed.
Heh.

So, what are the odds that Obama suffers a breakdown if he doesn’t get elected, or even worse, wins the popular vote, but not the electoral college.

He’ll just try to become the Secretary General of the UN - or an environmentalist.

More from Jack Tapper ..
Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, met with House Democrats yesterday, talking about his trip abroad and his observations.

Obama told the caucus, according to an attendee, "Nobody said this to me directly but I get the feeling from my talks that if the sanctions don’t work Israel is going to strike Iran." Others in the room recall this as well.
This isn’t the kind of stuff that any politician running for office as the "anti-war guy" wants anyone to know that he knows.

I mean .. now Obama knows what George Bush knows.

McQ whined like a little school girl that McCain’s 100-year quote was taken out of context. Obama prefaced his symbolic comment by saying the election was NOT about him, which changes the entire meaning of the symbolic comment. Of course, McQ doesn’t mention this.

Hack, hack, hack.

But then to McQ, Obama is just an uppity negro. So what can one expect?

Dale is cut from the same cloth. San Diego is filled with them.

Obama prefaced his symbolic comment ...
Yeah, it’s not about him but he’s the symbol, right Dude.

Must be nice to be that easily gulled. Removes any requirement to think, doesn’t it?
