"Our goal is to see a crowd of 75,000 people at Obama’s nomination speech holding their hands above their heads, fingers laced together in support of a new direction for this country..." Holding that gesture at mouth-level would be more appropriate. |

Given that it’s not Obama’s people doing this, but some attention-seeking ad agency, this is a complete non-story, ain’t it?

Given that it’s not Obama’s people doing this, but some attention-seeking ad agency, this is a complete non-story, ain’t it? The attention they’re seeking is for Obama. The rather weird strand of followers the candidate has attracted is what makes this a story. Well, that and the fact that the messianic adoration is fun to laugh at. |

The first thought I had when I saw this on Insty yesterday was "Do these people not understand how friggin’ creepy they are?" Good grief.
And Sigivald, go to Instapundit and read the link he has. It makes the Lightworker’s sycophants look even worse than the initial post, if that’s possible. |

Perfect. Those who believed for 8 years that Bush was a demi-god now complain about the adulation for Obama.
One can only be reminded of this classic bit of winger worship from Q and O’s kinfolk at Powerline:It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can’t get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile. Classic. And let’s not even get started talking about the wingnut reverence for Reagan. |

Classic. And let’s not even get started talking about the wingnut reverence for Reagan. Although ’reverence’ may be too strong a word if even the correct word, none of that ever happened before he took office. It was only after he left and his career was over did any sense of that take place.
Everyone who dies gets a little beatified. Because Reagan fell ill to Alzheimer’s disease he got that treatment a little earlier.
But unlike Reagan, Obama hasn’t left office, isn’t dead or sick, and has no accomplishments to celebrate.
You’re analogy isn’t even close. |

I realized where I saw this before. It is from the Star trek hippies episode "the way to Eden"
look at it 19 seconds in.
That hold episode is pretty much a good description of the Obama’s platform |
