Obama Goes for the Grass Roots
Posted by: Dale Franks on Monday, August 25, 2008

Iowahawk reports that the Obama campaign is pulling out all the stops on a grass-roots effort in the Red States.
According to Lorenz, winning back fence sitters to the Obama column takes a disciplined three-pronged attack of sarcasm, irony and condescension, which he demonstrates on a diner at a Fond du Lac IHOP.

"Excuse me, who are you voting for?" Lorenz asks the elderly man.

"Oh, I don't know, McCain I suppose," the man answers.

"Yeah, I guess you senile old fvcks need to stick together," says Lorenz. "That way you can stay safe from those scary Muslim nee-groos."

"See?" observes Lorenz. "Now that he's been properly shamed out of his racism, he'll think twice before pulling any lever for McBush."

Outside Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC, elite douchebag and Berkeley environmental street theater expert Jeremy Bremer uses a similar approach — with a green message.

"Hyuk hyuk hyuk, lookie me, Ima inbred Republican hillbilly drivin' round in circles, jist lak that thar Nafcar," shouts Bremer, pantomiming a race to boombox banjo music. The scene quickly draws a curious throng of onlookers, when Bremer suddenly stops.

"Except I'm not destroying the planet," he shouts angrily.

When a McCain supporter from the crowd responds, Bremer removes a video camera and begins filming her.

"Guess what, bitch?" taunts Bremer. "You just been rickrolled on YouTube."

"I'd like to see her show her face again after that," laughs Bremer after the incident. "Totally PWN3D."
This seems like a frighteningly effective tactic.

Maybe they can shoot at people’s homes in the middle of the night.

Or, here’s a better one: throw bricks through their windows. On one side is "Obama for President" while the other says, "Vote for Obama or next time we get rough."

I’m doing my part. I ordered 200 Obama bumper stickers and when they arrive I’m going down to the mall and put them on all the cars.

That’s why I’m buying more XM193.

The riots won’t happen in CO. They will happen when Obama looses.

It’s not really satire, there’s too much truth in it

This is nothing short of gestapo-like tactics. Why does anyone tolerate this abuse from anyone???

A quick kick in the nether regions will slow this ass down. And a follow-up swift kick to the head will improve his I.Q.

I like the idea of stocking up on the XM 193.

Some slugs and shot for my 10 and 12 gauge, some hollow points for my Sig.

A SHTF bag ready to go in my Jeep with my family.

It may come down to this at some point.

It might be the best thing that can happen.

TJ always liked the idea of a little revolution now and again.

When you have people like mk and glasnost around, then this is not satire at all. I am not sure you could ever create more parody that they already generate by being.

"I’ve just been rickrolled on You-Tube? And you’ve just been arrested for violating my privacy rights. Not to mention sued. The discovery process will be fun."

Your dictionary must contain a different definition of effective than mine.

I’d go out of my way to vote against anyone whose supporters behaved so crassly. Were I undecided, or wavering, this would be enough to tilt the balance.

I think the question is "frighteningly effective tactic" for doing what exactly?

Yep, some liberals are idiots and love displaying it in public. That’s the only message I see.
