Oliver Willis asks on Twitter:
"How many qualified and tested Republican women did McCain pass over for Sarah Palin? "
About as many as the Democrats passed over to pick Barack Obama, Oliver. Why?

That, btw, is the new line of attack by the Dems. Barbara Boxers says:
The Vice President is a heartbeat away from becoming President, so to choose someone with not one hour’s worth of experience on national issues is a dangerous choice.

If John McCain thought that choosing Sarah Palin would attract Hillary Clinton voters, he is badly mistaken. The only similarity between her and Hillary Clinton is that they are both women. On the issues, they could not be further apart.

Senator McCain had so many other options if he wanted to put a women on his ticket, such as Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison or Senator Olympia Snowe – they would have been an appropriate choice compared to this dangerous choice. In addition, Sarah Palin is under investigation by the Alaska state legislature which makes this more incomprehensible.
Shucks Ms. Boxer, have Hutchinson or Snowe ever governed a state?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

And about the Hillary voters? Check this out.

Well, you could say that she has comparable experience to Jimmy Carter without the fear of killer bunnies. She hunts and eats moose.

But hey, Willis has been steadfast in his support of Grand Keagle Byrd so that shows what you can take of his opinion.

Is having to deal with Russia and Canada not considered to be national experience?

Olympia Snowe would have probably lost him votes along with bringing nothing to the ticket.

Reading this, I have to note this about Willis and Palin.

Palin can do 100 crunches to Willis 100 lunches.

Let’s see: actual executive experience as mayor and 2 years as governor versus 2+ years of making speeches and running for president. The fact that the Obama people think this comparison makes them look good is amazing to me.

The Obama camp fell right into that trap. No matter what their public face, they ought to privately know they can’t win the experience fight.

All I can think of is that Clinton wouldn’t have made this rookie mistake.... (of course, it would never have come up because she has enough experience to make it moot, but still.)

This pick is going to be a game-changer I think, in the wake of idiocy like this.

They actually have the gall to raise the experience issue?

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

The MSM is pushing the line (because they want it to be so) that this takes the experience issue "off the table" for both parties.

But I sorely disagree. All Palin does is reflect the issue back onto the man who is running for PRESIDENT, not just a heartbeat away. Just me, but I bet most people want their experience at the top of the ticket.

As soon as the Lightworker camp mentioned "experience" they sealed their doom. If McCain doesn’t put his words up on commercials, a 527 group sure will.

Oh, and go eat another donut Oliver.

Been commenting at the site those posts were pulled from most of the day today.

It is good to be among like-minded people...

Which is to say, they think Obama sucks. :)

Hilarious. Executive experience? You have got to be kidding.

First, she is accused of firing the guy - the Commissioner of Public Safety - who wouldn’t fire her ex-brother-in-law. When she denies any involvement by her self or her staff, she is forced to walk back her denial when taped phone calls surface suggesting the opposite. Then, she asserts executive privilege regarding emails concerning the matter. There are two current pending investigations.

Then - wait for it - the guy she appoints to replace the Commissioner has a letter reprimanding for sexual harassment from his previous job. When this fact comes to light, she says she knew about the complaint, but not about the letter of reprimand, because she apparently didn’t ask for or have a background check done on the guy. Now, who doesn’t do a background check on the guy you are going to hire to be your COPS? The guy was forced to quit after 2 weeks on the job.

This, and she has been on the job less than 2 years?

Hilarious.

Why did Palin want her ex-brother-in-law fired, mkultra?
What had he done?

That’s still two years longer than Biden or Obama, MK.

And, MK? Does this mean that the Travelgate thing bothers you, now?

Was wondering when MK would show up blathering. I guess it took a while to get the talking points in order.

Question - how many ’winger’ sites do you think MK has to keep up with? I’ll put the over/under at 8. And I’ll bet the over ;-)

Second question - do you think every ’winger’ site has its own MK?

Hmmmmmm

Oooh, she fired some guy for not doing his job! The horror! mk and his ilk are in serious denial that the Palin choice seriously deflated the Obama campaign a single day after what was supposed to be their big moment. Suddenly, it is the McCain ticket that looks like the new fresh face of the election. McCain offered a gentlemanly congratulations to Obama on his nomination, Obama’s camp responds with snarky comments about McCain’s VP choice just hours after the announcement. The Dems look very petty today and people are noticing.

Compare that to Biden’s work for MBNA. One guy lost his job vs. thousands losing their homes.

Do you really want to play that card, Bad Comb-Over?
This, and she has been on the job less than 2 years?
No, you miserable cretin. She’s been governor for less than 2 years (which is still more executive experience than the entire Democratic ticket). She was also mayor for 6 years. And she was on a state commission.

Remind me again, how much experience did Jimmy Carter have? Or Gov Kaine of Virginia. My, my these moonbats are changeable, aren’t they?

I’m still waiting for Mike Dukakis to think of one Obama accomplishment. Surely in the past couple of days he’s come up with one.

I think this is a game changer (and I wasn’t excited when she was mentioned some weeks ago, mostly because I didn’t know too much about her) mostly because it looks likely to energize donations to the 527s that can do the investigating that the MSM won’t do and make ads pointing up Obama’s weaknesses.

"The Vice President is a heartbeat away from becoming President, so to choose someone with not one hour’s worth of experience on national issues is a dangerous choice."

Imagine not Sarah Palin, but Geraldine Ferraro.

Who was a House member. Who had been elected in 1978. And in 1984, she had 6 years of experience, in the House.

Remember how the Democrats took umbrage at any mention of that? How come when Wally Mondull picked Ferraro, and she would have been "one heartbeat away from the Presidency," Democrats seemed so unconcerned with that then?

Could it be...gasp!...that they are just frightened down to their Depends that Sarah Palin will clean the floor with Joe Biden, the same way McCain cleaned the floor with Obama at Saddleback?

Now, if the Dems lose the debates, what will they have left? Oh, I know: fear. That bad woman from Alaska is coming to take away your right to an abortion! Quick! Get out your NARAL cards and wave them in the air!

And here I thought Obama was running on "hope" and "change."

If he does manage to get elected, you better hope you have enough to cover his massive tax increases, and then all you will be left with is change...spare change.
