There are eyes and ears everywhere listening in on intemperate conversations.

A contributor to RedState happened to be on a plane which yielded some interesting banter:
On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats' convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least.

For example, they made fun of Sarah Palin for several minutes, Fowler calling her "Dan Quayle" on steroids and Spratt creatively describing her as "just terrible." They both agreed that, "Other than the simple fact that she's a female," she has nothing to offer.

Then there was this gem of a moment from Fowler:

Yes everything is cool ... and New Orleans, I'm sure, will be thrilled that you're so concerned about their plight.

Evil and malicious. You expected maybe Michael Moore to convey this? (Oh wait, he did.)

The Democrat wing of the Communist Party should pay attention to their "leaders" some time.

Heh. I remember arguing with denizens of Political Animal during the 2004 election who displayed the same misguided sense of certainty. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

BTW, the reaction of you and your lefty brethren to Palin belies y’all’s trumped up confidence.

At least I’ll be seeing them in hell...

And I’m just thrilled about all this...

Please. Mock Palin. I dare you folks. You think we get mad defending Bush? Attack one of our gals. Y’all ain’t seen nuthin’ yet...

Callous would be not caring.

Malice is enjoying others’ pain.

Evil is using it to create even more pain.

It looks like this storm will hit west of New Orleans - the worst possible outcome. Due to the counterclockwise flow, the hurricane winds will push water up perhaps 20’ to the east of center - the most destructive part of these storms. Also, storm surge persists for a day or so. Since much of New Orleans is below sea level, this situation does not bode well for the city. If it’s as bad as what hit Mississippi during Katrina, we might ask ourselves if there should be city there.

LA will be fine, because there is a competant person calling the shots (Jindal) now.

This DNC guy, however, will be rotting in hell, so for his sake I hope he lives a nice long life.

Drudge is linking Fowler’s sincere and heart-felt apology, to which he added this swipe at the person who recorded him and at non-Democrats generally:
"One doesn’t anticipate that one’s private conversation will be surreptitiously taped by some right-wing nutcase," said Fowler. "But that’s the nature of what we’re dealing with."
You know, I seldom wish to really kick anyone’s real ass, but I swear I’d gladly land a boot on his — assuming he could turn around quick enough.

"I mean, that’s why I became a hypocrite, because I didn’t anticipate that I would be held accountable for my private words. Oh, and because it pays well."

Maybe it’s just me, but doesn’t Fowler remember the ’surreptitiously taped’ phone call that the Dems released a few years ago? The one that finally got decided in favor of the Republican who got taped? The one where John Boehner (R, OH) went after Jim McDermott (D-ickhead)

Evidently sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander. Plus, Fowler came off much more like an a**hole than the Boehner.
