Former Sen. Fred Thompson lambasted The New York Times for its coverage of Sarah Palin on Tuesday, claiming the newspaper is "trying their best to drag her down."

Thompson told Fox News that the Times has focused on Palin's children, saying, "I don't think they get it."

I don't either, but at least now they're now in company with other publications which seem to share their editorial philosophy.

Well, the last thing I noticed about the Times was that their advertising revenue was down 16% if I recall the number correctly. They’ve stopped pretending to be an objective newspaper. I ignore them, avoid their web sites, and make a small effort to avoid their advertisers.

They are currently in a tizzy that Palin would have the audacity to abandon her five children for her career. Is this the new progressive stance, that women should stay home with the kids? Or is that reserved for conservative women?
