Two thoughts this morning, before I head to work:

Joe Biden said Sarah Palin is qualified to be VP. Oh my gawd, what does that say about his judgment? Is he going to be ready to lead?

Why is it that the only major media outlet that managed to keep the same journalistic standards intact from the Edwards affair to Sarah Palin is the National Enquirer?

ERB: "LOL! The Palin choice is exploding in the face of the GOP, and proving McCain utterly incompetent."

Yesterday in class Prof. Scerb had a good chuckle at how McLame/Palinsane was tanking worse than Eagleton. Worse! Much worse!

Everyone in my weekly Free Mumia drum circle agreed, and not everyone there studies under Prof. Scerb. The people have spoken! If a Bumper Sticker survey of the Humanities Dept. teacher parking lot is representative of the electorate, and we all know it is, then O!bama has 75% of the vote (with at least 24% going Green Party).

You righties are so dense.

“lunch-bucket Democrat.”
It’s true that when members of Congress release their assets and incomes, Mr. Biden famously ranks near the bottom of the pile. But let’s remember that we’re talking about a pretty privileged pile. Only in a place as removed from reality as the Beltway could a man who has spent more than three decades in the United States Senate be hailed as a working-class stiff.
Friend of Israel ?? ... New York Times, June 24, 1982:
Reporting on his meetings with the members of Congress, Mr. Begin said one of the senators had threatened to cut off aid if Israel continued creating settlements in the West Bank. The senator is reported to have been Joseph R. Biden Jr., Democrat of Delaware. Mr. Begin cited the incident to give voice to a feeling that is held in his entourage - that Israel has rendered military service to the United States in battle-testing American arms. ”Sir, do not threaten us with cutting aid,” Mr. Begin said, in recounting his reply. ”First of all, you should know that this is not a one-way street. You help us, and we are very grateful for your help, but this is a two-way street. We do a lot for you.”
Shades of Eagleton ? …
The spokesman, Peter Esker, said Senator Biden was awake, resting comfortably and talking with his family after the [May 4, 1988] operation, his second this year to correct an aneurysm. An aneurysm is a ballooning of an artery.
The 4 1/2-hour procedure was similar to that performed Feb. 12 on the left side of Mr. Biden’s brain. Under the procedure, a surgeon using a microscope pinches the aneurysm with a clip, bringing the walls of the artery together. The clip remains in the patient.
A continuation of the Cheney Vice-Presidency ? …
Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden received five student draft deferments during the Vietnam War, the same number of deferments received by Vice President Dick Cheney, and later was disqualified from service because of asthma as a teenager.
Chip off the old block …
A son and a brother of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) are accused in two lawsuits of defrauding a former business partner and an investor of millions of dollars in a hedge fund deal that went sour, court records show.
The Democratic vice presidential candidate’s son Hunter, 38, and brother James, 59, assert instead that their former partner defrauded them by misrepresenting his experience in the hedge fund industry and recommending that they hire a lawyer with felony convictions.
Ashley Blazer Biden, 21, of Wilmington, Del., was with a group of people on a North Side street where several bars are located when someone else threw a bottle at an officer, police said.
When police tried to arrest another person, Biden blocked the officer’s path and made intimidating statements, officer JoAnn Taylor said.
This last one may explain why Obama is against going after the kids/family members.

But I have to ask ... did anybody vet this guy ?

The bias of the MSM is astounding. Somehow, they don’t mind that Obama is a man without executive experience or real accomplishments, whose political career has been pushed by terrorists, criminals, and various anti-Americans.

If the Democrats win this race somehow, they will lose bigtime in 2012.

Because most of us confuse major media with unbiased reporting, when in fact most major media are public relations arms of the Democratic Party.

Let’s also not forget...

Barack Obama has less experience then Geraldine Ferraro had when she was nominated for VP.

Talk about having a differnet view of things, but this stood out ...
I sat in on a session with three leaders of Veterans for Obama, a group of retired young officers who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, courtesy of the New Republic’s writer on the scene, David Samuels. With passion and enthusiasm, these young people spoke of their hopes for nation-building in Iraq. The George W Bush administration should have put twice the resources into the beleaguered country, they harangued me - not just soldiers, but agronomists, traffic cops, lawyers, judges, and physicians. The Department of Agriculture should have mobilized, along with the Department of Justice.
Nation-building? Doubling down on the US commitment to Iraq? Isn’t that trying to out-Bush the Bush administration, while Obama campaigned on getting out of Iraq and spending the money on programs at home? Unblinking, one of the soldiers said, "That’s what we think Barack will do." They believed in a more expensive version of the administration’s program, and faulted Bush for half measures - and somehow they believed that Obama really agreed with them, all the public evidence to the contrary. And they believed in Barack with perfect faith.

Stop it, Caribou Killing Neocons! You’re making fools of yourselves. Everyone loves Barack. Perhaps if your pulled your knuckles off the floor and into Prof. Scerb’s Intro to Al-Sadr’s Sonnets and Poetry class you’d understand how much Gaia needs her Vitamin O!

Though I doubt you’d understand. You’re probably salivating over pictures of Sarah Palin gutting a baby seal with the same rusty knife that Bristol Palin would be using for her auto-abortion if George W. Blackwater had his way!

Palin didn’t even understand that New Yorker cover, you brainless Christhumpers! She doesn’t read The Nation everyday like Prof. Scerb does. Has she seen Inconvenient Truth? Do they even have theaters in Alaska, wherever that is!

I’m 19, and I know elections. I read 3 articles on about Bush v. Gore. I’ve posted 3,421 times this year on dKos. So I know what’s going on.

Do you think it’s coincidence that all 12 of us in Profiles in Anti-G8 Demonstration Courage just happened to choose Barack Obama as our fall semester thesis topic? Do you?

The election’s over. Diebold can’t help you now.

Neo, I don’t disagree.

Bill Clinton had that problem, but he tacked right, signed welfare reform and other parts of the Republican agenda, and went on to win re-election.

I don’t think Obama can or will follow the Clinton pattern. If he’s President, he will be Jimmy Carter II, but worse.

As much as $25 billion in foreign capital may have left Russia since the Georgia conflict started ...

The stock exchange’s benchmark RTS index, over half of it populated by oil and gas stocks which could have offered strong ’buy’ opportunities for those keen to ride high energy prices, suffered its biggest decline since the financial crisis in 1998.
