To this day, I can’t understand why the left side of the political spectrum expects or feels entitled to the hispanic vote. Every person of hispanic descent I’ve known ( I realize this is purely anecdotal) has been either Mexican and Roman Catholic or Cuban and Roman Catholic. And devout Catholics at that. They also tend to be extremely conservative. Not to mention some of the kindest people I’ve ever known(but that’s neither here nor there).
Does the left just consider themselves entitled to minority votes? How condescending is that?
It seems they always ’misunderestimate’ the hispanic culture and their values. |

This s what I was trying to get across to Erb and MK the other day. Regular people are talking about this election now. I mean, a normal night for me is to put the kids to bed, watch baseball, have a beer or two, text my buddies, hit the sack. Last night, ALL my boys were watching Sarahcuda and texting the hell out of each other. I mean, if guys are turning off baseball to watch a VP speech, we’re talking about some motivated/interested people. |

My parents fled Cuba, and I live in what most people jokingly call Lesser Cuba (Greater Miami). The vast majority of Cubans are heavy, heavy Republicans...but that has more to do with the fact that we don’t like anything to the left of Reagan. It scares the hell out of us.
See, we’ve had that before. We’ve seen what it leads to. And we emphatically say "you can keep it". |

Foremost of the obstacles, Palin’s teleprompter was not working properly. When she took the podium, the machine rolled so quickly, it often skipped the first line or two of every paragraph on screen.
