Good point. O’ course, it’s like the Allstate commercial: This may not be a recession, but it sure feels like one... given the MSM’s incessant attempts to persuade us all that the economy has tanked and we’ll all be in breadlines tomorrow.
It would be interesting to poll people - including The Annointed One - top see how many of them actually know the definition of "recession". It would also be interesting to poll people including The Annointed One to see if they have a clue about the unemployment rates and GDP.
As for The Annointed One and tax cuts: how well with that play with his loopy base? Next to wanting Bush hanged for a whole laundry list of "crimes" (starting with the ne plus ultra crime of beating Algore in 2000), the thing that libs want most is to see rich people PUNISHED. The must PAY for their crime of having money! That money belongs to the people, and if The Annointed One doesn’t take it from them through confiscatory taxes... well, that means that they’re getting away with it! HOW DARE HE!!! |

I see this as encouraging rather than discouraging since it suggests that Sen. Obama is a pragmatist rather than an ideologue. It might discourage his supporters mightily but if that continues to be the case an Obama Administration could look a lot more like a Bush third term than a McCain Administration would. |

I see this as encouraging rather than discouraging since it suggests that Sen. Obama is a pragmatist rather than an ideologue. You may see it that way. I see just another example of a man who will say whatever he has to to get a vote. A more interesting take would be to look at examples of what he said during his runup for the Senate - did he follow through? I am still Googling to find any of those speeches or debate transcripts. |
