This certainly won't make Illinois' Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich very popular among the extreme left (or the netroots, but I repeat myself):
"The reality is, governors every day have to make decisions for better or for worse. That's part of the job. It's an executive position. And it's a position that is like what you're going to do when you're president. Legislators, they do different things. They debate and they pass their bills back and forth," he said.
And I assume that Democrats don't think voters are smart enough to understand this huge difference. Let's see, gives lots of speeches and is 1/535th of the legislative body called Congress. Or, chief executive of a state and makes daily decisions about the policy, direction, budget, law and welfare of the entire state.

Yeah, they're the same.
"But governors make decisions, and I think it's a tactical mistake for the Democrats to question Gov. Palin's experience when she's been a governor of a state," he said. "I don't think the size of the state is relevant. It's the kinds of decisions you have to make as governor. They (Democrats) should focus on the issues and why the policies of President Bush ought to be changed and I think that's what will help Obama win."
But ... but, they have PDS. And besides all she really was is the mayor from a small town in Alaska.

One of the things they sometimes bring up is "national experience". I’m not sure senators have much "national experience" of real significance, but the American voter sure seems to prefer governors without it over senators with.

The new meme is that Obama is more qualified than Palin, because while Palin was just sitting around running a state, Obama’s been running for president. Apparently running for president automatically makes you qualified to, um, run for president.

Jimmah Carter was a one term governor of the state of Georgia. He was defeated in his only attempt at re-election to the post. I do not remember anyone saying how he was not qualified for the position of President.

John Kerry selected a single term Senator from North Carolina to be his running mate in 2004. It does not matter that John Edwards would have lost had he run for re-election to the Senate. I do not remember anyone saying how he was not qualified for the position of President.

Now Palin steps onto the National scene and people are climbing all over themselves to get to the mike and spout off how she could not even be close to being qualified for VP - when their own candidate for President could only wish he had the amount of executive experience Palin has. Even Joe Biden has stated that she is qualified for the job.

Attack her on the issues - go for it. Attack her on her position regarding taxes, abortion, health care - the list goes on and on - go for it. But to attack her becasue she is a woman, or that her experience is wanting, or that she is good looking, or that she has not had an abortion, or that she has children and you do only one thing - make her a victim in the eyes of the people and they will go to her defense come Election day. You don’t believe that? Keep it up and the Republican ticket is assured!

The best thing I’ve seen the clown-kiddie-corp muster about not liking Palin when they come in here is that she’s not conservative enough for ’us’ and why are we voting for her.

First, mighty white of them to tell us what we like, but hey, they’re prepared to do that on a national level all the time, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised they do it here.

Second, when I have to pick between the express train to hell, and the local train to hell with stops along the way, it’s easy for me to pick the one that might find it’s way to a siding to rest for a while as opposed to the one they’re clearing the tracks for.

I’m getting the sense they find it reasonable to think that as long as we’re (allegedly) throwing any fiscal conservative/small government/libertarian ideals out the window by voting for McCain/Palin, we might as well go whole hog and throw ourselves out the window too and vote for Obama/Biden.

And they call themselves the reality based community?

As someone who loathes Gov. Roddy, and thinks he is likely dirty as hell (I wonder why Tony Rezko’s sentencing got pushed back), I am utterly STUNNED he said this.

I am utterly STUNNED he said this.
I guess he’s not counting on a big future in the Democratic Party.

I’ve heard quiet rumor he’s not running again...

Then again, after Rezko’s plea (the ONLY reason I can think to have delayed sentencing) goes through, and Roddy gets nailed, it might be a moot point. Can you run for Gov from the inside of a prison cell?

Ummm ... looker? Is this supposed to be "uppity" backlash, or do you honestly not know what that means?

He has occasional good moment. The rest of his moments, however, make me want to see him impeached.
