Funny stuff from Klein.
Especially if he thinks these little, feisty jabs from the McCain campaign are anything like the much more substantive stuff they’ll use, if they need to.
Someone should tell Klein that the once great, and important, magazine that he writes for is now little more than a vanity publication, and that he and it don’t make any difference. The very fact that he writes stuff like that without being suspended by Time management should clue him as to how over it is for that magazine.
I remember, way back, a writer in the Village Voice discussing the report of a handwriting analyst about the character of the candidates in the 1976 (or was it the 1980) election. He noted that the analyst said that Jimmy Carter’s handwriting indicated that he was anal compulsive. The writer responded that, well, it was better than having a president who was an anal explosive.
Let’s hope, for Joe Klein’s sake, that if the McCain campaign has to send the Battleship James Cone into Obama Harbor, that Klein isn’t an anal explosive.

If I was McCain, I’d run this sewage / bilge from Klein every chance I got along with other choice items from the MSM. Show the American people who don’t already know the lengths to which the MSM is propping up Obama. Then, next time they see some headline about how WONDERFUL The Annointed One is, or how eeeevil Sarah Palin is, they’ll wonder if they’re being fed another big, steaming chunk of baloney. McCain isn’t just fighting Obama in this election: he’s up against the MSM, too.
The term "PDS" has been coined, a complement to BDS. It’s really CDS - Conservative Derangement Syndrome. Clarence Thomas, Fox News, Michelle Malkin, and now Sarah Palin. Tolerant lefties hate conservatives with a passion that most people reserve for bin Laden, the KKK, or nazis.
Hate is not a family value. It is, however, a liberal value. A CORE liberal value. |

I keep coming back to the things the progressives claim to believe, and shaking my head in wonder. Was the 2000 election stolen (actually, not rhetorically)? Was the 2004 election also stolen? Did George Bush not just stretch a point, nor merely state commonly accepted beliefs of reality by those on both sides of the aisle in the US and in most or all of our allies, or did he deliberately and maliciously lie? I mean, when you start looking at all these claims, you have to conclude that either the progressives are insane, or the conservatives are insane. Clinically insane, I mean, with no contact to reality. It is not possible for both possibilities in each of the above statements to be true, yet each side believes passionately that their view is correct and real. This extends to things like the science, where progressives seem simultaneously to believe that new energy technologies will rapidly come into existence because we want them to, but that funding science projects like the SCSC or the space program is morally wrong because the money could be used for housing the homeless and feeding the hungry. Someone is totally out of touch with reality, and I really hope it’s not me.

My mother-in-law’s friend recently came back from a trip to Cuba. Her guides there referred to Batista as "the dictator", and told her that things were much worse under Batista. And she believed them.
Right. The guy who stood down due to term limits is worse than the guy who finally decided after about 50 years that his brother would replace him. Right. |
