Yeah, Greta had him on last night, and I was shouting at the TV, "this is the dufuss who opposed more regulation as late as 2006 for just this situation."
Then I switched it to "Son’s of Anarchy" and let my blood pressure go down. |

Every Republican running for a House or Senate seat, plus John McCain running for president, should get down on their knees and briefly thank Providence that Barney Frank and Charles Schumer have such wonderfully high profiles in this financial crisis. Especially Barney, who has been hidden in the Congressional bulrushes lo these many years. To have him heavily re-exposed in this moment in this context is for the Republicans manna from heaven.
And anytime Schumer opens his mouth — the more the better, I say — it sounds the trumpets for the Reagan Democrats to come forth.
We know, of course, that the Republicans have done nothing to earn these providential blessings, but if they miraculously return to the majority let them not blow it again. |

Everyone keeps saying that heads should roll at the financial firms that brought on this mess. What about the incompetent politicians who are just as much to blame for running interference for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. These entities have been a source of political patronage for Democrats and a means for achieving liberal housing policy while they generated this massive failure. Someone needs to run ads in New York and Massachusetts pointing out the culpability of idiots like Frank and Schumer. |
