He agreed to the debate, and sought to postpone it to another night.
So he’s honoring his commitment, not to the university or the debate commission, but to Obama. That’s a clean move.
People will be watching.
Normally, I can’t watch Obama for more than 30 seconds, if that. (Not that I have any appreciable interest in the things that McCain says.) But I’ll give the thing a look, just to see how the boxers step into the ring, and how they come out of their corners in the first round.
You always like to see the bum in the fight on the canvas, as quick as possible, but heavyweight fight and presidential debate fans know that these bouts can drag on to 15-round split decisions, without a knockdown. |

I gotta agree. While I thought it was good of him to go back to DC, I thought it was kinda foolish of him to cancel the debate.

I agree, but it wasn’t really framed as a "request to postpone" more as a "im staying and you should too" He made it a matter of principal rather than a possible agreement between the candidates. |
