Murtha - Calling 911

It appears that Democrats will make gains in both the House and Senate, but the one race that I'm watching with interest is that in which John Murtha is engaged - and apparently losing. He's running against a 28 year Army officer and veteran of the Iraq war who, to put it mildly, leaves Murtha with little to crow about in terms of his own resume.

So, being in trouble at the 11th hour he turns to who for help? Superman? Nancy Pelosi? Karl Rove?

Nope, the "General Betrayus" bunch - MoveOn - with a "buddy can you spare a dime" appeal:

Dear Friends,

After decades of fighting for this country and our troops, I am up against the right-wing attack machine again.

Because of my work to end the Iraq war, they have thrown hundreds of thousands of dollars behind my opponent, who lives in Virginia with his family, not in my district in Pennsylvania. Now, I am suddenly being outspent 3 to 1.

They are up to the same old tricks, "swiftboating" me again as they did two years ago. So I am asking people who have stood with me on Iraq to stand with me again to stop them in their tracks.

People like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity are calling me a traitor and worse.

Ah, all the key words - 'right-wing attack machine', 'swifboating'. And all the key right-wing bad guys.

To the rednecks in PA - do us all a favor and take this clown off the national stage, please. Oh, and before I forget Mr. Murtha - the Hadita Marines send their love and wish you a happy "redeployment" to retired life. They mentioned something about a little bungalow on Okinawa.
