Taliban: Execution of Taliban murderers would be a "barbaric act"
Posted by: McQ on Thursday, November 13, 2008

There may not be a word in Dari or Pashto for "chutzpa", but the Taliban have it:
Afghanistan's Taliban, notorious for summary public executions, urged the United Nations on Thursday to press the Afghan government to stop executing prisoners on death row, citing concern about fair trials.

Afghanistan resumed executions this week after a break of more than a year, with three Taliban sentenced for deadly attacks among nine people put to death in the past few days.

"We strongly request the U.N., the EU, the Red Cross and human rights groups to earnestly prevent this barbaric act," the Taliban said in a statement on their website, accusing Karzai's government of corruption.
Of course, this is a common tactic among thugs. Use the system against the system.

Someone ask the annointed one where he stands on the issue please.

He must be made to opine about everything.

Actually, its a common tactic among SMART PEOPLE, not just thugs.

Sometimes its even done for good reasons.

Use the system against the system.
Abby Hoffman, Bill Ayers and a few others did the same thing.

As for these morons, I figure we should give them a life sentence... to commence the moment they’re tossed out of a plane 35000 feet over Mecca. How long they live, is totally up to them, and how long they can manage to remain airborne.
Oh... tape the thing and make damned sure AlJezera gets a copy.

Can you tell I’ve long since lost patience with this nonsense?

I think Harun knows what he’s talking about being front and center to the goings on of Chen Shui-bian. I was in Taiwan for 5 weeks in Sep/Oct and it was non-stop on the TV. Now I’m home and my wife watches CTI or TVBS tv non-stop.
Hi-lite: Rode the high-speed rail from Taoyuan to Kaoshiung. 185 MPH in one stretch between stops.

Just an example of using the system against the system is the calls for "diversity" in universities by hiring more Republicans, or the Mormon stage guy in Sacramento who could use laws designed to protect gays from being fired to protect himself.

Are you more tolerant of high speed rail proposals now that you’ve tried one? I checked the numbers for THSR when looking at the California ballot initiative, and I think they actually will make money in Taiwan while harming the airline industry. Since I hate flying and love trains, that makes me happy.
